How many cons do you go to a year? If I could afford it, I would go to as many as I can but I have limited myself to cons that I have friends going to. In this area(VA) there is around 4 anime cons, at least 2 scifi cons, and at least 2 comic book cons I know of. I tend to stick to anime cons but have been to sci-fi cons too. I travel out to Dragon-con in GA when I can but have never been to a comic book con. At my peak, I did around 4 or 5 cons a year but recently I do around 2 or 3. Dragon-con is my fav but I really wanna hit up Comic-con!

Just one- Otakon! Once I get a few more things paid off, I plan on increasing the list to include Anime Boston, Anime USA, and Katsucon. And if things go really well, I'll add Yaoi-con into the mix. But I don't see much more than that happening on a regular basis.

Never been to one before. I imagine it would be interesting and fun to go to one though.

You have to go to one at least once but if you do, GO BIG! Larger cons can cost more but you get much more content! Plus if you get 2-3 friends in on a room or ride for the weekend is nothing. Cons are much better with friends! Smaller cons can be fun and cheaper but can slack on content/guests so you can get bored. People watching itself is amazing!

The good:
Anime music videos (always fun!)
Videos rooms (I don't usually watch stuff at cons because I watch stuff at home but they can have rare/new stuff sometimes)
Voice actors (I watch sub so not a fan of them but I have met a few japanese voice actors at larger cons)
Panels (anything from voice acting, production, how to guides, Q/A, fandom, to just geeking out)
Dealer rooms (DVDs, books, candy, t-shirts, figures, and more)
Cosplayers (great for people watching and pics!)
Meet other fans! (ya gotta get social!)

The bad

Crowds (some crowds and lines but that's how you know it's worth it!)
Cost (with room, entry, food, and etc it can start around $200-300 if you can avoid dealers rooms! LOL!)

Over all, it's really worth it! Bring your camera and it's always fun to dress up!

I only go to one, Fanimecon. I wouldn't mind trying another one out but Fanime is closer to me.

It's been a busy year having been to Anime North, Conbravo, Otakuthon, Fan Expo (least nearby), Roc-Con and coming up this week Anime Syracuse.
