Man what a song choice. That was an excellent AMV. I really liked how they started it. Thanks for posting that. It's only too bad it's not on crunchy.

So far, I personally like this AMV the best. I mean, the editing techniques of this video was put to great use and the music was really in sync with it. And I think this video emphasizes/ magnifies/ reflects/ illustrates/ highlights* their distance for what it actually was. Being that, throughout his existence... since the moment they met and grew closer, he's been waiting for her, and continued to wait long after their departure. Takaki continued to hold Akari on too high a pedestal that even he couldn't reach. And without either of them making the effort necessary to continue on together, they continued to drift further and further apart. Of course, as time goes on, it's becomes harder to go/look back.

But I guess, that's speaking on a more artistic and... perfectionist view.

*Yes, I like to make use of all the words that are jumbles up in my head... in my family, I'm known as the human thesaurus (though, I highly doubt I am? Haha!).

That's a really nice interpretation. Made me appreciate the video a little more even though I already love it. You're great with words. :P

I personally think the effect isn't so much in the editing as it is with the song. From a technical standpoint the editing in this video is extremely simplistic and minimal - not that that's a bad thing of course. I honestly found that this AMV grew on me more with the song because the lyrics and mood were perfect for 5cm. The minimal editing and selected clips really helped in complimenting it (the song), but of course this is all my opinion. I really don't think that anyone could choose a song better than the one this person chose to use. Official movie song aside, of course.

A lot of AMV creators seem to forget that the song is more important than the editing techniques for these serious videos. Then again there's a lot of n00bs trying to make videos while thinking every anime fits Linkin Park, but that's an entirely different topic. XD

Haha, nicely put ^^ But then again, I mostly enjoy editing techniques that are simple and minimal. It's better than those that are overdone and basically over-the-top. Rarely have I seen AMVs that have actually achieved the medium of the two. And it's true, the song is obviously the main purpose for the AMV, however, I do personally like AMVs that don't try to incorporate all of the editing effects available... it just really gets on my nerves >_<

And thank you, I've tried over the years to work on my literature and speaking prowess xP Then again, according to friends, I should be an English major... but no xP

Here's an AMV that i made for a Japanese girl i used to know...

http://www.crunchyroll.com/media-331426/5-Centimeters-Per-Second-AMV-You-Get-What-You-Give.html

And the best part was, her hometown was TOCHIGI~!!! She saw the prefecture sign in the video and was sooo~ happy!!!

But soon after she saw it, she left to study in Australia-! And i haven't heard from her since...

I could never really forget about her. And so i made this second AMV. It kind of sums up all the feelings i had when she left... I'm pouring my whole heart out here, so I hope you guys enjoy
