So, what are the pros and cons of new vs. old? Obviously you can go to the obvious which is the artwork, but of course there is so much more! Me, I despise the way that the newer animes focus more on fan-pleasing filler episodes (which are constantly perversed), whereas in the past you would get the real quality episodes where even if the anime was 60 episodes long you could still stand it. Now, I'm a person that doesn't mind a little comedic ecchi once in a while but I don't get how you can make an entire anime on it. Let alone WATCH an entire anime made up solely of perversed ecchi episodes and no plot. Also, BTW, I know that there are quite a few newer animes that don't do this, but you're almost always guaranteed a few wierd fillers that bypass the manga's story. SO, this is why I like older animes.

Hmm... I didn't give a con. Well, I guess it would have to be that they couldn't have spent more time on keeping the animation consistent? That's the only thing I can think up right now, I guess I'll just have to add to the 'con' list if I see one of you guys post something, .

BTW, nice to see so many new members, welcome!

I like a lot of the old animes for some of the reasons Faith said.

Not a bunch of things that don't really add anything to the story. Some of the old animes also go into a deep story, makeing you feel more connected to the characters. I won't say that all old animes do this, and I won't say that none of the new animes don't. Its kinda hard to judge old and new as a whole. hmmmm

The authors of the new ones get ignorant and start to drag out the storyline make more chapters/books making more money.

The authors of old ones make a wonderful manga with a great storyline and a well thought out one too.

That's what think.

okay
this is my opinion on the pros and cons

Old:
umm i guess a good pro is that the animation isn't as good as they are now, but they have really good plot lines and stuff, and you can remember them @.@. Not great animation could also be classified as a con, if you are one of those people who only like the best animation possibly

New:
Pros: Good Animation (if you like that), some are on tv (naruto/bleach/etc.). A Con would have to be that alot of them are unoriganal, and loaded will to many fillers and you get bored with them rather quick

old animes were really original. they also remind us of our childhood, they had a magic to them. There was a point though where (a few years ago) animes lost their quality, but recently they really started shifting things a little, and shows have brought back their originality.
But then again, there were a lot of crap old shows (but we've just forgotten about them)

nope i don't think cause it I despise the way that the newer animes focus more on fan-pleasing filler episodes which are constantly perverse, where as in the past you would get the real quality episodes where even if the anime was 60 episodes long you could still stand it.

the most quality animes is the old cause it also reminds us of our childhood, they had a magic to them. There was a point though where a few years ago animes lost their quality, but recently they really started shifting things a little, and shows have brought back their originality......

Yeah, I have to admit that over the last couple of years they have been putting quality back into the animes... Although I do admit that they still are not as good. They aren't back up to the point where, as you said, even if they have 60 episodes they are still good though... Examples would be Naruto and Bleach. Yeah... There is work yet to be done.

The new anime seem to copy the old anime storylines. Just how many shows are like Fushigi Yuugi? Some of the new anime lack in character development. And they drag on the episodes instead of getting to the point.

Yes, I agree. I have personally had ENOUGH of waiting 26 episodes for the main characters to admit their love for each other and KISS. DANG, enough already, if they like eachother, admit it already, and get on with something else in the freaking anime... Ouch... Headache...
