It seems like the online route might be your best bet, unless you want to do what Winterfells said.

Personally, going to an anime club or a manga group only netted me friends, but I wasn't looking for more.
If you want to date, you need to take time to be a good friend or at least get to know someone before that.
I'm sure that you won't find a "sure thing" type of girl who is in love with you right away...let's face the facts.
Life is not an immaculate ecchi harem or a bustling, powerful action title. It's pretty cut and dry, and it's up to you.

This all being said, exercise everything you have at your disposal, and find someone who makes you happy, but what's more, make them happy too! A relationship is a two-way street, even with a great girl who shares your interests. Remember that men and women are separated by a large sea of uncertainty. As much as you might be worried about doing something to embarrass her, I'm sure that she's working hard not to be taken in too easily by the fact that you like the same things she does...cold is not bad; you may have just discovered your anime/manga/gamer tsundere...and there's a dere side to consider, you just need to coax it out. You can do it, keep at it!

I wish you much luck in your efforts, I'm sure that isn't easy.
My fiancee shares my interests, though not to the same extent as I do.

Y'all are all talking about how you can't find a girl with similar interests as you in the physical realm, and all I have to say is I can't find a man that shares the same interests as I do. Sure, there are some decent guys that I meet who are nice and enjoy movies and whatnot, but they don't really have much of an interest in the gaming scene or in the anime scene.

My last boyfriend was a gamer and liked anime, which was really nice. I worry that I won't be able to find those traits in another man. But, see, my issue is that I can be a little stand-offish at times. Not only that, but even though I have moments where I am pretty hyper and full of energy, I have days where I am pretty serious and lethargic; hungry for my own personal space. I'm also picky. I want a man who is as smart as I am, or smarter. Not to say I am a genius or anything, but I want to be able to hold in-depth conversations about topics with someone who won't get offended if I don't agree with them on something.

I'm in Japan, though. So it kind of puts a damper on things. I don't really want to date a Japanese man. The bridge in cultures is pretty vast, and it usually ends up with me pretty much being told (not directly, of course) that I need to conform to the Japanese way. Long story short, when Japanese men date me they usually end up realizing that they want to date a Japanese woman who is willing to quit her job, be a full-time house wife, and clean, cook, do all the womanly things and raise the children. Aaaaaand... I don't want to do that.

It seems impossible where i live to find a woman with intrests in anime/manga videogames you know that sort of stuff is it me or does anyone else have this problem

i live in georgia so any time i even speak the word anime they look at me like im retarded and if i talk about video games they think im a loser which i really dont care what they think it just seems like an impossible task at findin a woman thats into that stuff

This is what dating sites are for. It never made sense to me why some nerds hold out on using those sites. Like "Yes I am sure you will magically run into a girl that shares your same nerdy interests right on the street." Some ARE that lucky but that's the severe minority.

Oh, and not match.com or eharmony.com

Think
http://www.okcupid.com/

or

http://www.gk2gk.com/

as for CR ..... I wouldn't use this site for that.

If you're in college, some colleges have an anime club or two that you could go to in hopes of meeting a girl.
other RL ways to meet a girl - conventions, gaming clubs, gaming competitions ..... I think those are pretty high in the "Sausage fest" areas though LOL

Ive had an account on both those site haha. Okcupid has more people, but finding someone who is into the same thing as you, and having them be interested has been very difficult. gk2gk has less people, but they should all know what they are getting into.

If you want to live in Japan, it's easy. You can live and work in Japan with zero Japanese speaking capabilities. I am dead serious. All you need is a Bachelor's degree and you can get sponsored a VISA to work in Japan by English conversational schools (if English is your first language, that is). It's laughably easy.
