In another post I tried to clarify my enthusiasm a bit. This post.

The OP seems to be looking for a girl friend but he doesn't seem to have any female friends at all. I'm not saying lock yourself in the room. Saying things like that when there aren't any females in your life make it seem as though you are looking for the wrong reasons. If you just want a gf for the sake of having one then you are wasting everyone's time....

Are you saying you are not happy with your current life and a gf is the only thing that can make it better?

Of course I'm not happy with my life, but a gf is definitely not the only thing that could make it better. There are plenty of things in my life that could use improvement but the confidence, opportunities, resources, connections, etc... needed to do so are all in very short supply. Also it feels like any attempt to make a change for the better in terms of job/career or living conditions etc. will only result in things getting worse. So, no, a gf is certainly not the only thing that could make things better.

Actually, I don't really think that a gf would make any tangible difference to my quality of life, just make it a bit more confortable knowing that I wouldn't be alone and I would have someone to share my life with... Only the good aspects of course, I'd try to go easy on the bad ones.

I am a fairly strict Christian (in modern day terms), and we are not suppose to look for significant others. (Christian dating sites are a terrible existence.) I didn't feel like going into that in this forum as the OP didn't mention it in his question. In your case, do you have female friends either? Your focus should be on completing tasks and preparing yourself for the day you do meet your match. If you don't even know what you want how would you know you haven't seen her already?

I don't have any female friends per se, I have a couple female acquaintances/co-workers, but that's pretty much it. You know, the kind of people that will say, "Hi" and engage in occasional small talk, but never consider involving you in their lives any more than that.

You're right, how would I know if I've already seen someone who would've been a good match for me? Since I have virtually no relationship experience I don't really know what kind of person would suit me. Of course that just adds to the complication of the whole thing.

The_anti_coagulant wrote:

I am into anime and games.... Does that mean you will date me?

Please tell me that sounds silly. I know we all want more than that from a significant other.

Yes, that sounds silly. I'm pretty sure in my previous post I made it clear that liking anime and games was not a prerequisite, and I certainly wouldn't be looking for someone solely based on that trait.

The_anti_coagulant wrote:

I truly believe that anyone can be in a relationship with anyone else. There are no perfect matches, only better ones. I have decided not to date until I have done all that I can on my own, but that does not mean I won't have any male friends to play 2K with. I simply refuse to buy an Xbox so I have to have male friends....Since I realized these games are available on pc, that may be changing as well.

I'm just saying, if you aren't happy with your life a significant other won't make a bit of difference. The result would only be one person attempting to change the other and both parties being unhappy.

I hope I am not sounding arrogant or anything. I am curious though, what have you been doing the last ten years?

Keeping my head above water, swimming in an ocean of negativity that is my job trying to not let the current drag me under. Dealing with social isolation and boredom by being socially isolated and bored. Not even knowing where to get started to fix things and not receiving any help from the self-centric society in which we live. Resisting the urge to take the easy way out because there may still be a slim chance that things may get better, stuff like that.

It seems impossible where i live to find a woman with intrests in anime/manga videogames you know that sort of stuff is it me or does anyone else have this problem

i live in georgia so any time i even speak the word anime they look at me like im retarded and if i talk about video games they think im a loser which i really dont care what they think it just seems like an impossible task at findin a woman thats into that stuff

Well, here's a life-tip: even if you make disgusting amounts of money, they still won't play video games with you, or watch the shows you like. They're people, they have their own preferences and most of those preferences are naturally as testosterone-free as they are.

Date the girls you like, and do the things they enjoy when you're with them. That's your only option. Stick to your guy friends when you want to play games, they fight harder, actually enjoy the competition, and rarely take it personally. Even among the girls who enjoy video games, the girls who actually like you, won't want to beat you, so they'll let you win. And the girls that don't like you, rather obviously, won't be dropping by to play. So there you have it.

At my school. theres a group of us. lol i'm one, but i've been hit already. Pregnant with a baby boy due in Feb. single tho lol (:
You'd be able to tell if theyre a anime/game lover. they either have that style & unique but outgoing or just flat out quiet or nerddy looking but with lotta good friends.
for me i fit in with a part of all 3. no special style, quiet but still have that part of me thats rlly outgoing, but gotta lotta amazing friends. I'm quiet but shy idk is a word people would use to describe me after getting pregnant. buttt yeah.
& if u live in the country...u'll be lucky if u find one. i've been in the country side, i never found someone who likes anime but here in the city i do. very few are actually worth talking to tho.

im not that anime/game lover tho. with games im all old school and since i gotten pregnant and when im out with my friends 24/7 plus now ina few weeks possibly, hopefully be having a job. i have no time for anime & i rlly dont care. watched it for 3-4 years. seen every good possible anime out there by now. just lost interest in finding another one.

people here in missouri know the word anime. but not many people like the hobby of sitting in front of a tv/computer and watching anime all day. games, thats changed in the past few years since black ops came out. lol im just sayin

i imagine that by limiting your potential mates to those who like anime/manga/whatever, that you are severly limiting the number of women who you might think you have something in common with. if i were to walk out on the street here and ask 100 women aged say 16-35 if they watched anime or read manga i think the percentage would be pretty low. then you have to figure if 10 of those women say yes they do like anime, then how many of them will like you for you? maybe 1 or 2?

so don't worry about finding girls who like anime, find a girl you get along with. introduce ur interests to her slowly, don't go all otaku on her the first time around! simple things like a cell phone charm, or an anime sticker on your laptop or enough to signal those who are/might be interested. not that otaku chicks don't exist, but i think they tend to be congregated in places with a lively anime culture like LA!

on the other hand, if you just want to make friends, just about every girl on here is into some form of anime/manga/japanese culture! also, try taking a japanese class at at local community college, you'll at least meet others who have an interest in japanese culture in some form!

guys listen up
YOU ARE LOOKING IN THE WRONG PLACES
find a girl who likes you for you
she might be at the job
she might be at the starbucks
and she might not like anime/games
but here's the thing if she likes you she'll play with you(double meaning intended)
just like if you like her and she wants you to go to the mall with her, you might not like going to the mall
but you go just to enjoy her company.

Because this mystery girl gamer might just be the girl who makes you miserable

I'm one of those girls and I really truly exist in real life so I don't know what to tell you. Other than the worn out saying that love finds you when you stop looking.
Also, someone doesn't have to like everything you do to make a relationship work. In fact sometimes it works better with differences.
No fighting other the same controller for one thing. Plus, even if she is into the same things she might be just the other way in what sort of games/comics she likes so be prepared for daily debates
