During my internship, I had to download about 600-700 gigabytes from my desktop onto a testing environment. This was all over an intranet, though, so that might not count.

Single file? Well I cannot really think of one. Biggest TORRENT I downloaded was over 300gbs. (luckly I have a fast connection) I can go 7MBPS.

that's it?

I do about 50mbps

That's relatively slow compared to what is considered real high speed.

You mean you have seen your connection do 50MBPS? In a torrent? That is impossible. According to ST, my connection is faster than 84% of all United States. [URL=http://www.speedtest.net] It has been higher than this before though.

I downloaded my gargantuan backup of all my VST (Virtual Studio Technology) instruments and their presets. I think the grandiose total came to around 550 GB.

As for the numbers in dealing with internet speeds, I'm currently getting ~8 mb/s (megabyte/s) download speeds - which is ~75 Mbps (Megabits/s). As far as I know, the official conversion is 8Mbps = 1mb/s - or at least it's supposed to be, but the measurements are always under.

I don't know what to say for my self. I was truly a sick 14 year old.
Oh yeah, and I got a Trojan virus, broke my computer, my dad found out, he laughed,
and I went a few months without a computer, taught me a lesson.

It was back when Limewire was still around...I just said, no way, I have got to do this!

I like your story, just remember kids, bigger is not always better. Especially when its from limewire.

I dont really keep track. Ive downloaded games that I had to leave my computer on overnight to finish but I'm sure part of that was my dl speed.

50 Mbps would yield an actual download speed of about 6-7 MB/s i have a 20 Mbps connection and i can download at most at 2.5 MB/s

and this is not that fast. Asia and Europe have those speeds on their cell phones....

and land lines (fiber optic they have on average 150-200Mbps on their homes.)
