This show could have really been something without all of the fanservice holding it back. But I still think it is great, better than Aika IMO

To me, there is no such thing.

In my opinion Genshiken 2 went a bit overboard in terms of fanservice. Granted, it really doesn't have that much to begin with, at least compared to some of the other titles people have mentioned, but I feel like it would have done perfectly fine without the random fanservice scenes. It seemed pointless to me, considering the overall genre of the show.

Unfortunately, more and more shows tend to add fanservice of some sort regardless of the genre. I personally could do without most of it.

How has Queens Blade not been mentioned yet? I gave up on it in the first episode, right after the "acidic breast milk attack". It's like they crafted the plot as an afterthought, to hang together all the pointless fanservice scenes.

i actually wouldn't agree with that. they really don't have that much fanservice, or at least as much as people make them out to.

the only times they really had fanservice was the OVA (which is completely normal), about half of episode 6, and a little bit more spread out through the rest of the episodes.

For me what puts a show in the "to much fanservice" area is less about the amount and more about it that fanservice hurt the show.

And on that, "High School of the Dead" could have been a great anime minus the fanservice, but that time when they cut from zombie-action -> boobs -> zombie-action -> ass -> zombie-action -> boobs over and over again. If you have seen the show you will know what I am talking about, for me that was some of the worse use of fanservice I have ever seen and I have seen alot.

I know what you mean. The first episode, where we're treated to a close up of panties as the girl wearing them is being eaten alive was a disgustingly jarring juxtaposition of ecchi with macabre.

Asobi ni Ikuyo could've toned down the fanservice just a tad bit.

There is alot of them ,specially this Summer season man ,

but I think there is an influx of fanservice on the first season of Rosario to Vampire in 2008 ,I remember getting a bit shocked at first with the blatant panty shot and then ever since then it was fanservice titles here and there

and I cant tell which has the most fanservice because I dont watch all of them ha ha ha

maybe Dakara Boku wa H ga Dekinai but I agree High School of the Dead had a lot of it including the Matrix Boob shot action sequence ... but I admit that was really well done,,, animation and editing wise h ah aha ha.

Lol, that part in the 1st episode is what made Queen's Blade so funny for me to where I continued to watch it all... fanservice indeed.

Freezing had lots of nudity (fanservice as one calls it) but I think the extreme violence and plot makes up for it... decapitations are fun yes? Sekirei is also a notable example of this...

The only fanservice I recall was Ogiue's scene near the end of the series, where she exited the shower to answer the phone. While I don't doubt there was other fanservice, I often don't notice the more typical stuff. At least this scene made sense, as most people that live alone wouldn't wrap a towel around themselves if they get out of the shower to answer the phone.

If you had continued to watch (especially into the second series), you would have found it indeed had a plot.

The "acidic breast milk attack" seems to be the scene like Mysterious Girlfriend's drool that weeds out viewers from the first episode.

Were we watching the same series?

I am not that sensitive to fan service (as noted in a reply above), and even I couldn't help but notice how frequent it was, especially during a second viewing as an uncensored dub.
