Ok so i have noticed a recent trend on videos where if a scene might show female or male anatomy it is being blanked out. Now i am all for having this as an option to allow for parents who don't want their kids to see this type of thing.

I am not a child however and not only are the parts of the video being blanked out that might be inappropriate, but a good 20% to 30% of the screen with them. I pay for my access here at this point not only does this make these shows less enjoyable it is unnecessary, and excessive.

Something has to be done to make the censoring optional. Now i get it that some kids MAY be on here as free members so here is my advise.

1.) add a rating to all of the videos similar to what you would see on TV aka TV-PG TV-13 ect....
2.) free members restricted to certain rated shows
3.) members have an account setting they can select limiting what ratings can be viewed.
(with a parental control to lock the setting)

The alternative to this would be to allow members to select censored or uncensored. The downside to this being that a parent who is willing to pay for membership for their kid would do so with no way of limiting the account.

At any rate i am currently looking for other pay anime sights that have a similar or better selection with out the censorship that crunchroll has. If i am able to find one my membership will be at an end. So i suggest some of the changes above be made fast otherwise not only my business but others will be lost as i can not imagine i am the only one unhappy to be paying for 30% of my anime to blacked out.

Crunchyroll DOES NOT censor ANY of the shows. The shows that do have censorship are like that because the anime studios censored them. Crunchyroll has many uncensored shows. (Go check out Queens Blade if you don't believe me)

The shows that are censored on CR but not in fansubs is because the fansub group is using a cap from the channel ATX which is a $23.99 a month premium content channel that the anime studios provide a censor free version of the show for. The reason CR does not have this exclusive right like ATX is because they do not have the money. CR would have to jack up the subscription rate by a large amount to be able to afford the rights to the shows that air uncensored on ATX.

CR already has a mature content filter setup where you have to be 18 or older to watch. Go change your birthdate in your profile to a date that is less than 18 years old and all of the mature content shows will not play.

As for finding a legal paid alternative to current simulcast shows, you will not find anything. The only way to get currently airing uncensored anime is through fansubs or by living in Japan and subscribing to ATX.

Except i have checked queens blade 2 and So, I Can't Play H! against other sights too see if they had the same censorship bars and effects, and they don't have them. So either CR is doing the censorship or they are getting them from a source that is doing it. In either case it is being done badly and is making it very UN-enjoyable for me.

What legal sites are offering So, I Can't Play H! uncensored?

Queens Blade 2 is not currently being aired (Aired in 2009) and CR does not even have Queens Blade 2. If you are referring to Queens Blade Rebellion that just finished airing in June, that is because of the same situation as So, I Can't Play H!

The uncensored version was aired on ATX (And that is where the fansubbers got their version) and the censored version was aired on all of the other channels in Japan. (And that is the version that CR got) If CR ever gets the rights to the DVD version of the show (Like they did with the first Queens Blade) then they will be able to stream the uncensored version. But as it stands right now, the only way to get Queens Blade Rebellion uncensored is through fansub groups, live in Japan and be subscribed to ATX and maybe catch a re-run of the show, or import the Blu-Rays/DVDs from Japan (Vol 1 is out, however it contains no English subtitles).

As I said, fansubbing sites (IE, not legal) used a cap from the ATX channel. That is where they are getting the uncensored versions.

Think of it is the same thing as HBO. The only way to watch HBO shows legally with a stream is to be subscribed to HBO through your Cable/Satellite provider. If you don't want too, or can't subscribe, the only way to watch HBO shows is to buy the DVD/Blu-Rays or pirate them. ATX has a similar hold on uncensored anime.

Queens Blade seasons 1 and 2 are uncensored, Mouse, Kanokon, Ikki Tousen Uncensored, Queens Blade Rebellion is censored. So, I Can't Play H is censored because it comes from a broadcast television station. AT-X has the uncensored exclusive rights for that show, they are also part of the producers of that show, any website that has the uncensored version is illegal period, if you watch this show uncensored buyer beware, since you are not paying for it at all on those sites none of the views are going to help pay for that show. The only way to get that show uncensored legally is to pay for AT-X in Japan or buy the blu rays/ dvds when they come out. It's censored fine, think of Crunchyroll as basic cable there is not that much uncensored stuff on it.

Did you actually read and understand -Chris311-'s response to you?

It was explained why other (illegal) sites have So, I Can't Play H! and Queen's Blade Rebellion uncensored; it is because they were using raws from a premium satellite channel, not a broadcast station (which get the censored versions).

If you don't want censorship, then you should be willing to pay a lot more, because AT-X is about twice as much as HBO. (The actual price is denominated in yen, of course, so the equivalent amount in U.S. dollars varies). The licensors certainly wouldn't give CR the uncensored version for anything approaching the costs of the broadcast version.

FYI, Queen's Blade Rebellion is technically the third QB series, not the second. CR has both the first and second series (listed as just "Queen's Blade") uncensored, because they were provided by the North American distributor (Media Blasters).

In fact, they do have it. Go to the Queen's Blade page and scroll down below the video thumbnails and click on "Queen's Blade 2: The Evil Eye" to expand that section. Alternatively, just click the "oldest" tab at the top. (One would think it would be the other way around, since QB2 is newer and was added more recently).

Aaaahhh, you're right. I didn't scroll down to see it listed (low resolution laptop screen) and I wouldn't have thought CR would combine the two seasons. I figured it would have been a separate listing. Thanks.

Question. Not exactly sure where to put this question in the forumsbut this seems to be right seems it pertains to queens blade among other shows. I got the CR app on my Kindle fire and it works great except on a few shows it doesnt load them at all. Queens blade is one of them. That in particular doesnt bother me since i have already watched the series and am not really bothered by not being able to watch it as its not very entertaining unless you like having a boner the whole show while trying to find some semblance of an entertaining storyline and unfortunately.... failing. But my point is the android app seems to not load some shows that would be classified as mature. Could someone enlighten me as to why? After all i am paying to watch these things on my tablet but it seems I am getting jipped on some content.

One problem I see is that you don't have a date of birth entered in your profile.

You will also need to check that in your Video Preferences that "Mature Content Filter" is set to "Show Mature Content".

I have no issues paying a bit more for good quality non-censored videos. So long as the sight offers subs, and an english interface. So i suppose that is where i am at now. Hunting for a sight like ATX in english as the only one i have found is not.
