I just watched the first episode of Log Horizon, and i gotta say it was pretty good. I'm a big SAO fan, and where as they are both about being trapped in a MMORPG, Log Horizon is more about players getting sucked into a more traditional MMO and having to learn to adapt to it. All in all, I would say it's def worth a watch.

I also LOVE One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood (it sticks to the manga more than the original, I've watched both),

Also gotta give love to the oldies, Dragonball, and Yu Yu Hakusho.

Not sure if anyone already suggested it, but Log Horizon is pretty good too. I was a bit iffy on watching it, as it seemed like a SoA ripoff, with people being stuck in a game, but it stands well on its own, and Shiro is the freakin man!

I would also suggest the following:

Beyond the Boundary
Aoi no Exorcist (Blue Exorcist)
Black Bullet (currently being simulcasted)
White Album 1 & 2
FMA & FMA: Brotherhood (as mentioned by others)
Strike the Blood
Vampire Knight
Dance in the Vampire Bund
Hellsing Ultimate
Trinity Blood
Trigun
Cowboy Bebop
Record of Lodoss War
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles

And sweet zombie jeezuz, so very many more..!

I recommend.. (in random order)

- Accel World (mecha, action) - work from the same author as SAO
- Cardcaptor Sakura (mahou shojo, comedy, romance) - one old school anime but still worth watching
- Psycho-Pass (crime, mystery, action) - must watch if you like blood spilling around and tension with smart storyline
- Natsume Yuujinchou (slice of life, supernatural) - episodic anime that you can watch anytime, with moral values and lovable characters
- Angel Beats! (afterlife, slice of life)
- Love Live! School Idol Project (idol, school life, music) - one of the most superb animation (3D CG, rotoscoping) I've seen so far
- Fairy Tail (magic, action, comedy) - one of the light and exciting anime with action and amazing magic, a great stress relief
- Log Horizon (action, magic, game) - somewhat like SAO, have the players stuck in the game, but if SAO is more to the fighting, this one is more to the tactics and strategy

Just a few I'd personally recommend,
Fate / Zero, a little older but a really impressive story.
Fate / Stay Night, Not as good as FZ according to some individuals but worth watching
Black Bullet, The Irregular at Magic High School and Chaika The Coffin Princess round out the rest of my reccomendations

Definitely Code Geass, because this Anime is soo good, you don't even know. This show will make you cry like no other. ( with a few exceptions of Angel Beats, Clannad etc... ) Which I also recommend btw.

Pandora Hearts, now if you start watching this Anime, BE SURE to continue reading the Manga, because the Anime is amazing, but the Manga is even better! It's still ongoing and I'm still loving it. One of my all-time favourites. Also lots of feels from the Manga.

I love watching:

Skip Beat (love episodes 6 & 7 are really great!)
Shugo Chara (first and second seasons only...)
Eyeshield 21 (great series)
Air Gear (pretty cool, I guess)
Sword Art Online (of course)
Uta No Prince-sama (haven't seen it in a while, but it's good.)
Yumeiro Patissiere
Yumeiro Patissiere Professional
Full Moon O Sagashite
Sailor Moon Crystal (It's the newer version, and better done)

I love reading:

Kaikan Phrase (or Sensual Phrase, as it means in English)
Sailor Moon (all series)

I'll add more to each list when I remember more, or when I read or watch new stuff.

There's a lot of good anime out there, but a few of my favorites are...

Steins;Gate - A nice Thriller/Sci-Fi anime. It was released in 2011, but the art style is still as good as what the modern art style for anime are right now. It has 24 episodes, so it's fairly short, not too long like Naruto and those long running anime. It has a few special episodes and movies, but not too many fanservice stuff. Steins;Gate is a unique anime. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me smile. Its about Time Travel, a not really popular genre in the World of Anime. It uses this very well in the story. All the characters are well developed, and it's an overall amazing anime.

Golden Time - I personally didn't think too good of it at first, and even stopped watching it entirely at a time, but this anime is amazing! It's a Comedy, Romance, and I think Slice of Life anime. The story revolves around a college freshman boy (I can't remember his name lol) and his romance, and college life basically. This is a hilarious anime if you want to light up your heart a little bit. It might seem a little bit boring at first, but it's amazing.

Anohana -the flower that we saw that day- - This is a sad anime- I think it has like, what? 13 episodes? It's kind of sci-fi, but it doesn't revolve around the science fiction (kind of like When Supernatural Battles Become Commonplace). It has a movie if you don't want to watch through all the episodes, and the movie basically summarizes some stuff. It's super sad so don't watch it if you aren't prepared for the tears.

Note: All the anime's I'm listing are either over or the season ended, so this is just for anyone who hasn't seen them.

I really enjoyed Akame ga Kill! It is one of the few series that I've actually read the manga.

If you're looking for something calming, one of my favorites is non non biyori, I know it's a bit childish, but it is very relaxing.

Others I liked were:
Parasyte: the maxim
Golden Time
Death Note
The world is still beautiful
Log Horizon (if you can get past the politics)
Engaged to the Unidentified

God.... So many Anime and Manga series to choose from.... So little time...

Anime:

- SDF Macross (Its an oldie. First anime i remember watching, and it still sticks. Everything after this was getting less and less in my opinion, but the first story is by far the best)
- Gundam (So many different stories, both good and bad. But more then half i would watch again.)
- Onegai Teacher/Onegai Twins (Good fun!)
- Love Hina (Good fun!)
- Rurouni Kenshin (Absolutely LOVED the OVA 3 episodes of great story telling. The series are a lot less in my opinion. Never gotten around to finnish them.)
- Suzuka (Kouji Seo is my favorite writer! Watched the first 2 episodes of Fuuka in January 2017, and decided to watch Suzuka after a tip. After the anime left me feeling like somethings where missing, i started to read the manga. And thats when i became Kouji Seo's fan.)
- Fuuka (See Suzuka)

And sooo many more!

Manga:

- Suzuka (Kouji Seo, do i need to say more?)
- Kimi no Iru Machi (This is a story that plays during and in between the stories Suzuka and Fuuka. Characters from all 3 manga's make cameo's in each others stories. Akitsuki Fuuka makes a few cameo's, with 1 where she, as a little kid, comforts Kirishima Haruto who just broke up with his girl.)
- Fuuka (Explained enough. But Fuuka is my all time favorite manga!)
- Half & Half (After Fuuka, the second story that made me drop a tear. Though Seo made me cry rivers with Fuuka on multiple occations)
- Orange Marmalade (C'mon! I loved Fuuka and such! This story made me feel warm and fuzzy.)
- Yamato-kun and the Seven Witches (Good story, perfectly timed jokes that almost made me pee my pants from laughter)
- Nana (Also a very well written story. Dunno if it will ever be finished, due to the author's health issues.)

And soooooooo many more!

Graphic novels:

- Sword Art Online (For those who loves the story, but feel like something is missing, read the novels! Had the flu a few weeks back, and managed to read novel 1-7 in 1,5 days. Reading novel 9 now, after finished 8 2 days ago. Alicization Beginning. Psyched!)
