I would solo for a bit to get the hell out of the town of beginnings (so I could hold my own a bit) and then join up with one or two people I feel I can trust (I tend to have a very good sense of who is trustworthy, so that's not really an issue). We would hopefully stand together til death do us part, training our butts off and farming to stay above the crowd and safe from harm from other players. I would probably take a similar skill set to Kirito (unarmed, one-handed blades, awareness, and maybe also appraisal to make some cash on the side to stay well-equipped and avoid accidents with mysterious items).
Furthermore, I would be extremely cautious about fighting on the front lines, against bosses and with people I come across.

I would train with a friend or two at first until I'm somewhat high level and farm. Then I'd join a strong ass Guild :P. And if there's no high level Guild by that time, I'll make one with some of my strong friends . I would probably be more defense/support oriented than offense, since that's what I was in two MMOs I used to play. |

Honestly its hard for me to know... and some of it is dependent on the factors.
Biggest factor: Is my family with me in the game?
If they weren't I would imagine that I would be on the front lines trying to get back. In a group because its safer and makes more sense in general. However I would probably consider soloing or doing small groups in areas or floors that I had already gone through with a larger group.
Like I mentioned before I would swing around a large polearm or possibly a chain type weapon.
I am a big fan of life stealing abilities and so if they have them I would definitely be using that. I would probably be in mid-heavy armor with a polearm, but maybe leather armor with a chain weapon.
however if my family was with me then we would be hanging out in town and I would probably be a ... I have no idea... maybe I would be a specialty plant grower if there could be such a thing. Growing plants that are needed for crafting... *shrugs* just a thought.

I don't think you would be able to find him, he probably has his own separate world to sleep in. I have the feeling he wouldn't go through all this trouble just to let people hack out of his "world that he can intervene in". He wanted to become a god, so he is probably well aware of what everyone is doing?

Anytime I start a RPG the first thing I find myself doing is over-leveling. I would shy away from guilds because a guild could get you killed. I might just start my own guild and beat the game so everyone could go home. Cause with my over-leveling fetish I'd leave the town of beginings at level 99 or something. =/
