Ya, this is based on the manga..rather than an anime adaptation.
I thought the series was meh though, not anything special anyways.

I didn't read the original manga. Did it contain more story than the anime? I kind of remember the anime ending without really resolving much. If the manga gives the story some resolution then I might consider reading it.

Well for one thing the werecat ninja chick, is a male character in the manga with a much more convoluted story and connection. Though he remains strange mentor for werewolf boy and is his masked final opponent in the duel/challenge/bet thing at the end.
hmmm... mostly though the anime covers the majority of the plot of what I've read of the manga. fairly well. Action manga tends to get eaten up by anime faster than drama or exposition. you can eat up a lot of pages cool action pictures in just a few seconds of on screen action on the other hand conversation eats up time on screen put is only limited on a page by how big you want to make the text bubbles.

I love the manga version of Bund and the Anime was great as well. To me it had a great story with great artwork and fighting scenes, but thats just my opinion. I doubt there will be a series 2 which is a shame but I'm happy they're carrying on with the Manga, got a few on the shelf.

How great was season 1 of Dance in the Vampire Bund? Was it any good? When will season 2 come out dubbed by Funimation? Anyone know? I never bought Dance in the Vampire Bund because I heard not so good things about it. I heard great things about this other vampire anime show called Shiki though. I have Shiki but have never watched it yet. I will watch it eventually sometime soon.

The October issue of Media Factory's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine announced on Wednesday that Nozomu Tamaki's Dance in the Vampire Bund horror action manga is returning for a new mini-series and a new second series.
The Sledge Hammer no Tsuioku (Sledge Hammer's Recollections) mini-series will launch in the December issue on November 5. Then, Tamaki will resume the main story in Part II, which will launch next spring.
