Normally I just say this;
"Butthole. We never talk anymore..."

Talking takes 2 people, if i feel someone doesnt put in any effort to converse or basically, be friends, i just move on

You think about why you stopped.

For example, I had a really close friend. We stopped talking all the sudden. After that I thought about why I stopped talking to her and noticed all the sudden that it was because she was using me and was two faced.

If you have thought about why and what the person is about and its all positive, then give them a quick 'hi' on facebook :)

I hope you had a conversation first and at least gave the friend a chance to address your hurt. When people just judge without asking questions or trying to find out if there perceptions are correct, it can cause so much unnecessary pain.

Amen. I agree. Some people are just too busy or lazy or don't understand that it takes some *effort*. It doesn't just *happen.*

I hope you at least have a conversation first. When we make assumptions and judge, sometimes we're wrong. ALWAYS have a conversation to see if things can be salvaged before you just cut things off. If you're afraid of conflict or an argument breaking out, that's no excuse. Maintaining a friendship takes some effort. It's vile to just cut someone off without even trying to make things better & understand. Some ppl have done that to me. Perceive, judge, bolt is a lousy way to maintain friendships. You have to LISTEN too.

I stop talking to people often - it's not done to upset them, but rather, I don't usually feel as though we should have been friends in the first place and rather than try to work things out, I figure I don't want them to have to change who they are to be friends with me..they're better off with someone who likes who they are as a person. They'll typically add me back on Facebook, send me a text message asking how I've been, or just come up to me.

i'm lazy, and talking is tiring... and once we stop talking, it gets harder and harder to start talking again as the time passes... until u forget them... but if they are really worth ur time... u'd never have stopped talking to them...

But if u do want to start talking again.. a polite hi or greeting is fine.. and if u hear nothing back.. well then they weren't worth ****

Awkwardly nod and smile, then say "Yup, yup..." and look down, "Wow, that was awkward."

I never ask why we stopped talking since I usually know the reason why. The most common answer is that we just simply grew apart and toward different paths, i.e. new friends, interests, etc.
What's more is that I often don't try to talk to them again, since I'm tired of putting so much effort into relationships that are simply one-sided-always just me trying to make things work, which I've come to hate over the years...
