Well, since I don't practice any religion, I'm going to have to go with love.

Love is a true force of nature, religion is not. Love should, and does, trump religion on every level. But alas, many people will never understand that.

this is for general not specfically you, i don't know you so please don't take it as i am saying it towards you.. lmao i think if one believes in religion it fine but to abandon their partner when it comes to marriage is just bloody cruel, don;t you think? it like you saying you not good enough as you not the same as me. even if it works on every other sense it just too cruel, i suffered this pain and it really pissed me off, it racism really, you are discriminating when it comes to marriage just because they don't want to have the same faith as you but one could argue this, you want to live in different countries, just give up on them . relationships are about compromising no?

lol yes relationships ARE about comprimise, but who will or better should do the compromising? ...... you see what I did there "will" was used as a more natural and equal approach, yet "should" would be a biased approach...honestly which would you choose? that is an absolute. Also I'm not taking it personal execpt for the part I said yeppers im Christain...putting that aside, in the original post there is an obvious push for love rather than religion which stems from the original Idea that religion is some how unfair, a fairy tale, overly strict, a thing of the past and some times evil and need to be destroyed. This Idea is sewn in the heart of our youth by teachers of some sort who hide behind the word Science when if you take a step back and look clearly is in itself a organized religion. The main point I am making is that one spiritual life is very very important...these days it is looked at as almost useless, but to those that know better understand that it is more important than life itself....we must look through the others persons eye's before moving to judgement, even when matters of the heart are at the line.

lol both should compromise equally but that theory, reality, one does more than the other. also hmm yup sometimes ti does, it breeds war so reset it to zero but that another whole issue in its own right lmao. also science is a religion to control the masses without fear or hindreance i agree with u as a scientist. also spiritual is very important even in medecine but i think to be spiritual isn;t in a religion but in ur actions and belief in god himself, if u truly love someone, why give up for a difference in religion because i not saying for atheist to marry a believer i am saying for those who believe in a god but not religion why are they discriminated against

I'm young, so I guess I can be considered impulsive because I choose love.

hmm..discrimination is a too strong of a word to be used here, it is clear to me that you are basically saying the same thing, but in a different way...in such a situation I will have to agree to disagree. I need new information to continue a conversation or I become bored; I make it a practice not to repeat myself unless needed. But if you have anything "new" I wont hesitate to reply.

I will talk from my own experience.
I am christian because my parents were.
I guess there is a possibility that there is something stronger or higher than us...
But I'm like Scully in the Xfiles, I need to see to believe.
There are so many religions and all of them claiming to be the 'right one'.
So meh, I'd say believe in what makes you happy.

That being said.
I have dated someone in the past from a different religion.
I'm really open minded and am also interested to learn and see how other religions works.
So I did read about it and tagged along with him to learn more.
I have met very nice people and did learn a lot but still decided it wasn't for me.

His parents told him he should leave me because I wouldn't convert and it would be too much trouble.
So he left me.

Today I'm happy he did, because I believe that love is stronger than religion (but that's me, my values and how I feel).

I have met someone last year who is also from a different religion.
When he told me, I was horrified....
I was scared that he would leave me because of it.
But we talked about it a lot and found that it didn't matter much.
I was so relieved and happy that we have found common grounds and can be respect each other's and still be happy together.

So my 2 cents is, if you want to be with someone from a different religion, just make sure you talk about it.
Talk about it at a early stage to make sure it's ok for the both of you.

Cheers
