Real replicas It's one or the other, you can't have both. A real sword would cut through a lot of stuff, a replica would most like cause a nasty bruise or break a bone. Anyway, that line amused me :3
I've only ever held a replica, pretty sure real swords are illegal to own here.
Now that you point it out I can see what a weird phrase that was. I do know the difference it just came out wrong haha.

Yup Ive held a sword been cut by a sword a knife Ive had a lot happen around blades but look-it me still in one peice hell for high school me and a friend created a sword dueling video (we only use replicas then though for safety reason) Ah to be that young again...

I was on holiday and me and my family went to a little resturant/cafe, I was really thirsty and was begging for a drink, the waiter was the manager and was a pretty funny guy, he came back with my familys drinks, they all got their normal drinks whilst he gave me the tiniest glass in the history of mankind.
I then ordered a pizza, and said to the guy I didn't have a knife, he came back with a full on metal sword, I was about 8 at the time and I struggled so hard to merely hold it, I procedded to cut my pizza with a sword.
TL;DR - Used sword to cut pizza.

I used to do Civil War reenactments as a kid growing up.
One of the regulars was a legit swordsman who did swordsmanship displays with a Celtic claymore. They are ridiculously large and heavy - you can't swing them like a normal sword and he showed how you have to keep moving with the momentum of the blade. Pretty neat but I could barely lift that thing.
