Actually there is a major problem with axes and that is that they get hung up a lot. Skill can lower the chances of it, but it still does a lot more than a sword ever would. There is a reason that the sword or a version of it is used by almost everywhere in the world. Plus the fact that an axe is only a slashing weapon whereas a sword may thrust as well. Its also generally faster due to its balance and easier to hit with (larger bladed surface). well dont forget hacking as well. and a thrust of the blade is not all ways needed and there are some axes with a point up top. ether way each has a job and does it well. now like i said i prefer a katana but if we go to medival then a axe please

I only ever held it once, when I used it to kill a weed taller than myself in the backyard of a new house. I don't know whether it really was that old or not, but it certainly looked it. He let me hold it once when he first showed it to me and it looked so beat up that I was worried it'd snap in half and i'd end up destroying his priceless family heirloom.
