I have no skills. I want to have skills, but they elude me. Such is the way of my life. Sure I write, sure I draw, sure I do all sorts of artsy stuff but no matter what I do I never reach a level of self acceptance. I'm gonna stop this before it goes too far into self-pity territory.

ok, so who here is an aspiring writer? don't be shy because I am. and it doesn't just have to be writing! maybe you have a talent in music or drawing. i cant do either of those, so writing it is for moi! i don't know about the lot of you but after watching something really good or reading something amazing i get this burst of energy to write and construct a story of my own. i've been that way since i was a kid, just getting inspired by anything that catches my attention and draws me into the depths of my emotions...yes that was very deep, but let me know what you all like to do! i'd love to get a spark for something we all love to do :))

I could say i'm the same way as you. Although i prefer to tell a story through animation rather than words. I'm currently going for a bachelors in Communication Design, just establishing an educational basis. My favorite kinds of animations i'd have to say are freeform ones, anyone see the intro fights in world of warcraft when you first boot up the game? Scenarios like that where you play a game for hours within the rules of the game, to be taken outside and have a rule free reality spin put on it, it really makes the fights interesting to see how they are carried out with no limits. I don't really want to be a one track kind of animator though, i'd like to be able to do 2D stuff aswell, at least decently. So who knows how well i can fulfill my ambitions.

high roller you are which is pretty cooooh. im high rolling for NYC best sellers so maybe one day when im up there i'll give you all a shout out hahaha. so what do you want to do? make video games and animation?

LOL its ok! go far and deep! its all about exploration. and hun i understand where you're coming from about your skill tree. it takes some time, but you'll always find out eventually what you're best at. what do you like to do?

I'm a big fan of sci-fi, fantasy, books, movies, etc. Anything that involves a story and some kind of medium that can convey it.

I'm not much of an artist, even though I am really jealous of that gift. I have a lot of scenery, design, graphics, images, etc. in my mind that I'd love to translate to paper and pencil. There's a running joke on the forums that I'm an amateur hentai artist, haha.

My dream is to write a script or plot for a movie. Something that is original, exciting, and leaves a footprint in cinema history. I'm kind of disenchanted by the majority of movies being released in America these days, we're really running out of ideas in Hollywood.

On an unrelated note, I'm also a bit Game of Thrones fan, hence the name "Winterfells." I love the Starks obviously, and also have a soft spot for the Baratheons. I will get into heated, passionate discussions about the lore.

I can sympathize for House Targaryen, but I'm not really keen on the idea of them winning the throne.

hahahahahaha. you're funny. but hey make a really good hentai and you'll be making hits too and yes i loooove the starks but i feel like their downfall can be their own family, as is all the other groups, but i think-OK you're right its a good thing you made another topic because i was about to go on and on about the starks lol so have you started on your path to famehood?

In the art of writing, yes. I have tried to bring my ideas to life on paper through drawing but found that writing was the best course. Creating stories filled with action and over the top scenes. But with something meaningful buried in it.

i definitely get that. i love to incorporate double meanings into my text. it makes things much more dramatic and elusive somewhat. the only thing i probably have trouble with is that my mind goes a thousand miles per hour and i just want to stick whatever im thinking on the paper. which never works out lol.

Always wanted to be hardcore writer, but I lack imagination and urm dedication. I'm pretty good at crackish humor and short stories though, and as long as I entertain myself I'll keep writing. Also love photoshop, gfx design, and photo editing. Oh, and music. I love to sing. I also like to think I can act.

Yeah I'm pretty artistic but as for seriously aspiring to be an artist professionally? Naaah.

inspiration in the mix, nice i've always wanted to be an instant pro at photoshopping if anything since pretty designs and pictures are part of what inspire my work. and dear, dedication is dedication within itself, its hard to dedicate you're self fully into something without reality getting in the way most of the time. so i get you there, as much dedication as i have for writing i wish i could always put more in it because i know i have to be financially stable some while doing what i love.

i might not be a writer of word but a writer of music xD it tend to be fun when you watch something and it motives to you to write stories or compose music to the background of it. now a days though people tend to just throw away what they love for others things so i find it great that people here like drawing animations and writing and not only like but love it so much that they want to improve in it everyday of there lives it's truly amazing. just one advice i would give is that never ever give up and hard work does truly pay off ! :P

AMEEEEN! LOL. sweety music is writing in a whole new level of awesomeness and i envy that you have a talent for music. thats another part of my inspiration that i need in order to write my stories. depending on my mood listening to the right kind of music will only heighten those feelings i have right there and then. so yes, if im writing a very sad part, i will cry my pathetic ass off if im listening to some super sad notes. but you're amazing and i would love to hear some songs that you've written. and since you seem to be in that talent, do you happen to know anything about instrumental? i like the powerful inspiring ones

As of right now, I work as a Freelance Web designer and Graphic Designer. My course I took and Studied through included video editing, 3D image rendering, photography, web programming, film making. My Courses were heavy on programming and graphic design. Throughout the whole course of 18 months and 26 courses later. I liked the idea of programming and vector art creation more than the design aspect, but you need both of them! I find programming to be fun IF you understand how it all works, lets not talk about all those days i wanted to punch walls, flip tables and just rage because one line that i made messed up everything I had created.

LOOL aww im sorry to hear about that last part, but you know what, we all have to let it out somehow, so it all sounds pretty healthy to me you remind me of my days when i used to rip all my stories up because it was too boring or just throw away portfolios because i didn't like them. but i've learned to accept even my worse works because i will always be able to incorporate something else into it. good luck with everything that you do! you're a hard worker and i would like to see some of your work sometime

The only hint of a skill I have is in writing and I write as much as I can to improve it. I have written my own stuff, but at the moment I mainly focus on FanFiction. I guess there's alot of appeal in writing FanFiction since you already have the character patterns and it's interesting to put the characters in situations they would normally not endeavour in and figure out how they would react. It's great practise for the future if you want to write your own stuff with your own characters because it really teaches you how to stick with a character's personality.

For years now I've had ideas for a book I want to write, but I really don't feel like my time has come to actually write it. I want to gain as much knowledge in language and writing as I can before venturing on into the Herculean task it is to write a book and do it well.

THIS, I CAN RELATE.

The fan fiction bit especially since you're only borrowing characters and behavioral patterns already laid down it makes the groundwork a cinch and you can just let your imagination run wild from there since you don't have to develop the people behind the characters. Totally agree.

I know what you mean. In the end, I have to go over what I have and see what works the best and perhaps keep the other ideas but change them in ways to make them work.

I compose music in my head. Unfortunately, I forget it by the time I get to write any part of it down. Also because I'm not talented enough to put it from my head straight down to paper and on instrument. I hope to become fluent and able to do it easily in the future. I constantly listen to music and make different variations. Right now I play the piano, I used to also play the violin and bass but I stopped. I'll get back into it when I have a stable enough life to spend time on my passion. Even gather several musicians to form a group, I used to have one in the past.

Strangely enough, my mind starts to compose music when i'm really tired or in a very relaxed state. I can't come up with it compositions when I force myself to. My mind gets very light hearted and my emotions sing with every note that I feel and want to hear. It's still quite bizzare on how my body reacts to music. But what I do know is without music I would be absolutely lifeless.
