They do offer a free 2 week trial.

I would say wait until they have all the episodes, and you have plenty of free time (in case they have other series you want to marathon).

yea i wouldn't mind owning this on DVD/Blu-ray bet it would be expensive i don't trust ordering this stuff using paypall haven't had much luck with them and i don't trust just searching crap online if its not a trusted site that i know i can contact i just can't buy anime. and i hate the dub version of some of these shows i mean HATE it i would rather rewind shit than listen to American voice actors they just can't say the lines the same because they don't know the language its just like the word "cool" it can be said many different ways and the same goes for several words in Japanese. And being that i live in america everywhere i look its the dub version.

Lets be realistic here. They announced this less than two months ago. Its not going to be on DVD/BD that soon. On average it takes between 9 months to a year to get from initial announcement to release. Don't expect to see it until next summer at the earliest, *maybe* spring if they really try to fasttrack it. In the meantime, we'll have FUNi's releases of the rest of Tenchi to tide us over.

Also, the first episode becomes free on FUNi's site on 9/21, the 2nd on 9/28, the 3rd on 10/5, and so on...

The free streaming schedule is here:

It shouldn't cost much more than FUNimations other boxsets which tend to range from $40-$60 depending on where you buy them. Amazon and Rightstuf would probably be the best places to get it from.

While I admit there are some pretty crappy English dubs out there, theres plenty of crappy Japanese dubs too. What alot of people don't realize is that the majority of English dubs are just as good as, if not better than the original Japanese audio. Its just that the fans can't tell since most of them can't speak Japanese. When the dub actors try to imitate the Japanese voices too much is often when the dub ends up sounding pretty bad or the performance sounding wooden. The english dub doesn't have to be exactly like the Japanese dub, it just needs to sound good (which itself can also be pretty difficult at times). If you don't like dub script changes, thats more on the translators/writers than the actors themselves who usually don't do much more than simply read off the script they're given.

Doesn't it also make sense that the ENGLISH release of an anime by an ENGLISH company would put a greater emphasis on the ENGLISH dub? English releases always (with few exceptions) have the option to watch in Japanese with subtitles anyways, so theres really nothing to complain about.
