lol carbokill

Anyway, Does anyone know how many gajillions of groups are on this site for making said tall avatars? The avatar request groups are some of the most active ones. Fan groups die as the show ends but the graphic groups are alive and kicking.

Server costs lol. Why don't we delete all these groups that are dead since 2010? or give people the option to remove them themselves....

Then here's a resolution.
Paid members can have the tall avi's
Free members = MSN size

It's one more reason to pay.

I don't really care but I have seen some pretty cool avi's that you can tell people put some work into. Oh well.

You guys have no idea.... from a web developer prospective long avatars are a nightmare! It has nothing to do with file size, it's just a pain to create layouts for images that can go any which way. Face it, Facebook, Twitter, and even G+ don't allow it because it's a pain when it comes to design. By restricting the size it will actually help the site come up with better designs.

It's a good change that will benefit the site in the long run. Just be happy they give you a lot more freedom than most sites.

I was just about to post this same thing... from a developers perspective it's annoying and I was surprised from day one of visiting this site that CR didn't seem to have a height restriction on avatar's. I also find it quite ridiculous as a user of this site when going through the comments on a news post and having to scroll 400 pixels of dead space because someone wants to have a really long picture next to their name.

Frankly I don't care so everyone who likes huge pictures can find out for themselves... but why not just crop your avatar, and then if someone thinks the small version is cool they can go look at it in your profile where you can stick it in the middle of your page or in a photo album?

In the end it's a change that you all shouldn't have had to deal with since it shouldn't have been that way in the first place.

whys should it matter whether you can use tall avatars or not. honestly speaking using an avatar to express yourself is enough there is no need to the dimensions to exceed what is needed or what the server is able to handle. and its not something that matters that much so who cares what size the avatar is. hell just be glad you can use an avatar to express yourself. you don't like it then don't use it. simple as that.

btw freedom does not apply here. if you want the freedom to use tall avatars make your own site. pay for the hosting yourself and be done with it. when you use a private site you have to abide to their rules. if you don't like it then don't go to that site. its that simple

If I see one more post about Carbokill, this thread will go to hell.

It looks like the majority of you are unhappy with this new update (including me, but I can definitely live with it). I will move this thread to the Help/Support/Feedback section and see if the admins want to make any changes to it.
