With cinemas constantly changing may it be new chairs, 3d experience or bigger speakers! I was wondering! Do you still go to the cinema and do you enjoy it? :)
I personally love it! I go once every week or two to the imax as there is a place called xscape near where I live! Allows me to go skiing, rock climbing and crazy golf! Then afterwards can go up to the imax and see a new film! This week Dredd! But there is another cinema near me with a new bit of tech called the D-BOX! A chair that rocks about and what not in accordance with the film o.o sounds strange. Maybe like of the the Disneyland 4d theaters!
Not a fan of the drink prices though  and the fact I can't pause the film if I need the loo! hehehe. |

I do love the cinema. When I lived in Burton I had a cine world membership and sometimes I use to have awhile day of watching films.
At home we've got a 3D tv so most of the time I wait until the film is out on 3D blueray but I'm going to see dredd this week.
The food and drink prices are daylight robbery

I will go to the IMAX theater for big releases like Inception or The Dark Knight or Prometheus. I don't think regular theaters are worth the money.
Here's a fun fact that I learned when I worked at the cinema during high school. Theaters only make about a dollar profit per ticket sold, the rest of the ticket goes to movie companies. This is why is concessions are so expensive. If they were to charge normal prices for concessions, the tickets would be almost $20. Surveys were done and they concluded that if tickets were a high price and concessions were normal, less people would go to the theaters because spending $20 just to get in would turn away too much business.

I love it when our theaters show really old classics. That's when the audience gets involved and makes it all the more fun watching.

Recently I went to a Cinema with very nice couches and you ordered from inside...
They had all types of food-beer, hot wings, tacos, hamburgers, hotdogs, popcorn(ofc).
And all this was in a mall in Tijuana...I know right?
It was cheap too, for me, a tourists...10usd. An average theater would cost around 10-15usd here in San Diego.

I love going to the movie theaters.
It's a huge hobby/passion of mine. I like to expand my repertoire of movies watched, and also expand my film collection.
Might sound a bit weird, but I generally prefer going to the movies by myself rather than with friends or a date. It's "alone time" for me.
I do enjoy IMAX, however I think they generally go way overboard with sound and music, hurts my ears and makes the dialogue unintelligible.
I don't usually eat the nachos or popcorn there, too synthetic and weird for my tastes. Ice cream, soda, candy is alright every once in a while.

Only if I think the movie is worth seeing or if someone else pays for it and drags me along.
So many movies nowadays are just so middle of the road that I don't feel the need to go.
Honestly, I prefer watching movies at home ... makes it more personal I guess. All I really need is a good story. A jumbo screen with incredible sound doesn't seem to make a huge difference with me and I'm not sure why.
