For example, i would do a Tardigrade, cause that would just be cool. YOU MEAN A WATER BEAR *3* OHHH THEY ARE SOOO CYUTE ~ !!!!! Yes ! It can be any micro organism ! Whatever ! Yep, I fell for the water bear many years ago. Cuteness, my only weakness. Alright!!, my 6 years spent studying biology have not gone to waste. Now comes the hard part, the design. |

Here's my entry.
Haloquadratum My new favorite. It's square and tedious to cultivate, It likes salt and can even live in brine and soy sauce. The only identifiable species is the Walsbyi. This is a newer species from Australia. I almost submitted another entry but changed my mind for fear of cheating. and put it in a spoiler for the effort I went to. Spoiler Alert! I have a question about my entry. I did some research into microbials for this contest and learned a lot of really cool stuff. I found one that not only is really cool but fits into what I do for a living as well but all of the research out side of the first article I found calls it an enzyme. Does that still count? I really hope so because it's a really cool little guy.

I really hope so because it's a really cool little guy. Thank you I just wanted to make double sure. Here is my entry: My entry is for Cellulase. It is used in commercial food processing for things like coffee, for various uses in the paper industry, and (according to an article that lead me to this little guy) being experimented on the field of textiles. Apparently it is being used to "bio-finish" stone washed jeans, saving the cost and use of pumice stones to fade or finish jeans. Because of this I modeled the little guy off of a pumice stone in shape and color. Enjoy! here they are helping to make my husband a cup of coffee. And they hung around while I read a manga. Thank you! and good luck to everyone that entered!!! |
