I have 20Mbps down over a rural wireless mesh network so latency and packet loss are a huge problem. The tiny buffer empties faster than it fills up because it only takes a dozen or so packets to fill it but then there's a period where you're not getting any data because the buffer's full, then when you request more data your request could take, for example, 150ms to reach the server and another 150ms for the data to reach you(And that's only if the server sends data immediately on request without requiring any acknowledgment or authentication steps inbetween, which could double, triple or even quadruple the time it takes between request and data) and by the time the stream starts pouring in, you've already emptied the buffer and the player is awaiting patiently for more data.

The only way to fix the problem is for Crunchy Roll to increase the buffer size so that you're actually using the buffer and when you need to request more data it doesn't take longer to get the data than it does to reach the end of stream. This sort of anti-piracy measure just drives honest people to use the many, many free anime sites because they lack this type of service-crippling "DRM".

Crunchy Roll, Please use the buffer, don't cripple it. It was handed down by the binary gods for a reason!
