One of the most awkward things for me is when I cosplayed as Ulquiorra from bleach. It ended up being extremely hot that day so i decided to go and take my costume off early. My hotel was about 5 blocks away so a started to make my way there. Well so it seems in the 2 hours that i had been at the convention thousands of people had filled the streets between the convention and the hotel. A parade was going right through the middle of the city. I had to weave my way through people everywhere while getting the most awkward and strange looks from onlookers. A group of parents even grabbed there kids and pulled them away from my direction. It must have been the fact I was carrying a sword in a sheath. It was of course fake but still looked very real. My green cat eye contacts and white skin probably also looked very scary.

All in all it was quite the experience for me. Cosplaying in public can get quite the reaction. what are some strange, awkward, and weird things that have happened to you while at a convention.

Me and my cousin were at Anime Milwaukee this year, and on the second day we saw this group of people a ways away. It was a group of like almost thirty guy cosplayers I'd say, and they all had their shirts off, while the rest of the crowd around them were cheering them on. Hehe, we avoided going that way to say the least.

Oh, lots of different things, I think I actually recognized a few of them from when they still had all their clothes on. It was literally just a big group of guys who probably didn't even know each other. Haha, don't ask me how it got started in the first place.

Dude stuck a fake sword through his legs and was poking it at people.. when he came to do it to me I broke the thing in half. Someone behind me made a funny comment about erectile disfunction that helped make me feel less embarrassed though.

At Anime Boston last year, a girl cosplaying Zero Suit Samus glomped me out of nowhere and I was okay with it because she hot and skinny and 5 feet tall. I picked up and swung her around in the air and everything was cool. Next thing I hear is some girl scream "I LOVE GLOMPING!" and as I turn to her, she's in a Harley Quinn cosplay and probably weighed about 400 lbs, hoofs it as me. I see her at the last minute, dodge that shit and she is so big she couldn't stop herself because of the momentum and she barrels into like 20 people all posing for a big Naruto group picture. IT WAS HILARIOUS. I ran away laughing my drunk ass off. Maybe it was a bit assholish of me, but it was dodge or be crushed to death. The innocent Naruto cosplayers group were just collateral damage.

That's awful, yet epic!

I imagined it with a drum roll and cymbal crash at the end.

Handling questions asked by Obsessive-Compulsives that know zero about the hobby or finding items of interest for collectors that don't know what it is they're looking for but they saw once upon a time in your booths at the last con selling for 200% less than wholesale. These people aren't anime fans but model railroaders. Usually every Fall, Winter, and late Spring I succumb to bouts of sado-masochism to my core being by exposing myself as a knowledgeable model collector at model railroad shows. I have a good friend who travels to cons purveying his inventory of wares ($400,000 worth USD) and I have been the "go to" sidekick helping him set up, sell, disassemble on-site for over 20 years. The accumulative toll my psyche has endured from catering to vapid public whims can usually be gauged here on CR. This is a great site for purging moments of angst, turmoil, and ephemeral frustration from my soul.

Anime can't be any more nerdy than model railroaders who are endowed with the dubious dual curse of anal retentiveness accompanied with a rivet count detail orientation mentality. Gawd! (Please, Death: choose me, choose me!)
