sitting in line waiting for the masquerade and out of my peripheral I see this girl to the side of us trying to be all stealthy digging her nose for like 5 minutes straight and wiping it on the ground next to us and it was just creepy/weird overall and we were texting eachother to verify that we all saw what she was doing and decided to scoot away a lil bit lol.

people always ask me who I'm cosplaying as when I'm in my normal clothes.... that's pretty awkward....

Some of the worst experiences ive had at any cons have been the guys that wear the necromimi ears and anyone in full furry costume.

My friends and I all decided to go and eat at some restaurant some miles away from the convention, off course we were all in our fabulous cosplay outfits. And even better, we ended up eating at a ramen shop with a bunch of asians silently judging us weird ass white people. It was a very weird experience. Next time, I'll make sure to take off my costume before I go anywhere in public.

I've seen this to happen people before, it's really awkward to watch

My biggest problem is 'stalkers' ... sometimes when I wear costumes with short skirts, I always get at least one guy who follows me around, I even had one guy at AnimeFEST in 2010 follow me around, and he'd wait til I posed for a picture, and he'd kneel down and look up my skirt -_-

Last year at AVCon, I accidentally walked into the male bathroom... Thank god no one could tell that I was a girl straight away, anyway.
I wasn't even crossplaying at that time, too.

A person asked my group of friend in line at a Tim Hortons (A coffee shop in Canada): "Is there a fetish convention happening or something."

I was about 3-4 sheets to the wind and forgot where my hotel room was and walked in on, what I can accurately describe as, a furry orgy. (I was on the wrong floor, but in the right direction, their room was right above mine)

The image of 5 people in and out of costumes gallivanting about will forever be burned into my brain. They weren't pissed that I was knocking and even offered to let me stay. I nope'd the F outta there.

I was dragged along to Florida Comic-con two years ago on a whim with my then girl-friend. let me be frank; It was my first time attending any sort of convention and I thought little of convention going people. I would like to say NOW that I was dressed to the 9's but I wasn't. I was just another Vanilla con attendee walking the convention floor.

I must have had a target on my chest and a slab of steak tied around my neck because the next thing I know this 6'2 muscular guy dressed in nothing but leather chaps and bondage gear had indiscriminately made me his target. By the time I heard the charge "HAaaaro!! Gaaaaai!" It was too late. The guy had me cornered and was thrusting his pelvis in my face with a crotch stuffed with socks (at least I hope it was stuffed otherwise the world truly is a cruel and unfair place).

Now keep in mind I knew NOTHING about Masaki Sumitani the Japanese pro wrestler known as Razor Ramon Hard Gay. There must have been 100 camera flashes to catch the horrifically surprised yet secretly flattered (I am a straight bro after all so it's okay to be secretly flattered as long as i'm not openly flattered.) expression on my face.

We had a laugh afterwards and the guy was cool enough to explain to me why he was dressed like a hairless bear club member which helped to alleviate the dumbfounded expression I had splashed across my face at the time.

Shortly after I got to watch the Hard Gay videos on youtube and he is now one of my favorite Japanese celebs. So, that was Spacebats 1st most awesomely awkward experiences at a convention. Now i'm hooked and want to attend many other conventions.

Nothing personally, but my friend took a crap in the convention center elevator just because that's something he would do, I'm sure that was awkward for all the people who walked into it after him...
