At our school we would have a Homecoming assembly where the King, Queen, and royalty were revealed. We also had a Homecoming parade through the city. The Homecoming football game was always a big deal. Guys generally asked the girls to the formal, in creative and cute ways. Guys bought the girls a corsage, girls bought the guys a boutonniere. I remember sophomore year I wanted to ask this girl to Homecoming, during one of her classes, and it sounded like a good idea but came off in a semi-epic fail.
