Hey guys, I know there has been some post about this android tablet, but i have had mine for 2 weeks now and I will give you my honest opinion about this tablet.

Of all the tablets I have used, the asus google nexus 7 is by far the best. I would say that it is similar to the Asus transformer prime, which costs over 2 and a half times more! In comparison to the Ipad 3, I see absolutely no difference other than the fact that the nexus 7 is 7 inch and ipad is 10 inch.

In terms of size, i prefer the 7 inch nexus 7 because it only weighs 300 grams and it is the perfect size, with crisp HD graphics. The graphics are incredible, with a quad core CPU.

To use this device with the crunchyroll app or use mangareader apps to read manga on it is fantastic!

Trust me on this one, buy this tablet if you are going to buy one.

And a word of advice, buy the 16GB model, not the 8GB. About 3 GB is for the software, leaving you less memory.

Enjoy

I have one as well:

Ipad 3 has a better screen, but it's not that much of an issue (screen on the nexus 7 is great)
Everything else is better or equal.

If you do own one, one IMPORTANT thing to do: unlock it and search google for "nexus 7 tablet ui"... it really improves it *a lot*!!!

I've had mine for a while, and I think it's great as well :)

I used to have a 10" tablet (Advent Vega), and while that was decent enough I much prefer the Nexus 7 - 7" feels like a much better size for a tablet, and the screen is much nicer. I also like the fact that the case I have puts the tablet into standby when I close it.

An SD card slot of some sort would be nice though, as would HDMI-out. I've also found a few apps in the Play store that don't want to install as they claim to be incompatible, like my bank's Fast Balance app.

Other than those gripes (which are pretty minor) it's well worth the money IMO.

I got one and a IPAD 3... I like the fact you can use firefox with flash patch and watch 720p crunchyroll when a anime comes out, and not
having to wait for the android / ipad app

In my experience, native apps run better than running from a browser. Sides, I prefer watching CR on my widescreen off of my Roku

I'm thinking of buying one soon, for reading books, comics, manga etc. I'm guessing anyone who's tried hasn't had any problems with these things?
They look a nice machine, especially considering the price. I'm certainly looking forwards to owning one =)

thanks for taking the time to review the tablet, OP.

I have a Motorola Xoom, and sometimes I just find it a little too big, so I thing I would like the 7" form factor.
I also imagine it is a lot faster then my Xoom, with Jelly Bean and a quad core processor.
Still, I still prefer Android based mobile devices to iOS.
