Winter 2013 anime

I just noticed after looking again but nearly all of the weekly shows are some sort of Slice of Life.
Why? |

Everything has a name. So yours doesn't make you special.

I only counted 9 or 10 of those that could be considered Slice of Life and most of them are short anime(less than 5 minutes). I would imagine that Slice of Life fits a short anime much more than other genres(although you have some parody shorts too). I have noticed that this season does have a lot of comedies, but I like Japanese comedy so it's not a big deal for me. But I also see a highly acclaimed anime that could loosely be considered a sports/drama(Chihayafuru 2), at least two fanservice-heavy series(Vividred Operation and Senran Kagura) and a few interesting action ones(The Unlimited-Hyoubu Kyousuke) and an interesting series that features economics and demons (Maoyuu Maou Yuusha). Female viewers would also likely enjoy a few too(Amnesia, Hakkenden and Hetalia: The Beautiful World). |

Are these four episodes will be a sort of precursor to a full series? Because: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-12-09/monogatari-2nd-season-anime-not-scheduled-yet I read somewhere that the Nekomonogatari novel will be covered in the "2nd season" that has yet to be scheduled. |

From http://bakemonogatari.wikia.com/wiki/Nekomonogatari : Nekomonogatari (猫物語), comprised of two volumes, is the fourth part of the Monogatari series. The sixth and seventh books overall, they contain the stories Tsubasa Family (つばさファミリー) and Tsubasa Tiger (つばさタイガー). Black is the last book in the first season of the series. White is the first book in the second season of the series. |

Gee, an RPG anime that's about LIFE AND DEATH. I've never seen that before. MORE SLICE OF LIFE!? Wow. I'm absolutely breathless.
Sarcasm aside, I hope some of this turns out well. Although it just seems like more of the same stuff, I'm actually looking forward to some of the shows on there and especially some of the movies. |

Yeah, I'd heard that Sword Art Online is selling well in Japan. So there'll be more of that. I'm looking forward to Chihaya Furu 2 (you forgot to mention sequels of previous series) and the series with the thief set in the period leading up to the Meiji Restoration. Other than that, I'll be reading the ANN season previews and see if anything catches my eye. |

And now there is only 1 series on FansubDB that we don't know the premiere date of yet. But now we know that Love Live! premieres on January 6th at 10:00 PM JST(according to FanusbDB and Countdown).
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-12-10/love-live-tv-anime-1st-full-promo-streamed I imagine the announcements for Winter series will start the week after Christmas unless Crunchyroll is streaming an early preview or will announce that Osaka-okan short on December 21st before it airs. (And I also check the ANN previews too). |

Date a Live now confirmed as a Spring 2013 anime, rather than the AIC "leak" of Winter
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2012-12-12/anri-katsu-takehito-koyasu-join-date-a-live-anime-cast. Countdown and FansubDB also confirm this. Both have also added Arata Kangatari as a Spring Anime so Countdown now has 16 confirmed series for Spring 2013. EDIT: Make that 17 for Spring on Countdown with Kakumeiki Valvrave , an original mecha anime by Sunrise. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-12-13/sunrise-makes-mecha-anime-valvrave-the-liberator |
