As jree78 pointed out in the comments on the announcement, the publisher for DC III is Dwango, which owns niconico. The time is also exactly the same as the NicoNico premiere. This could be an interesting precedent.

For Da Capo III

The Da Capo III anime is set to broadcast on Monday, January 7th, at 7:00 am Pacific Time for its premium members. Free members will be able to view one week after initial broadcast on Crunchyroll.

Da Capo III will be available to Crunchyroll’s audience in the following territories: U.S.A, Canada, Central/South America, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.

The series page will be up soon at www.crunchyroll.com/dacapo

Since the page is called Da Capo, that makes me wonder if CR will eventually get the previous series.

I definitely didn't see this coming at all but gj on CR on getting it. Would there be any chances CR will get the other Da Capo series?

Btw, the first raw episode has pre-aired already.

The previous series of Da Capo(Da Capo I and Da Capo I Second Season; Da Capo II and Da Capo II Second Season) are all unlicensed. The original Da Capo anime is from the early 2000s I believe. I think it's possible that somebody might license those especially if the stream number for Da Capo III are good. I don't know if I have to see the previous series to understand the plot or if it's standalone.

BTW, the publisher is Dwango

Yes what does this mean is this a one off thing are people dipping toes in water or is this just a sublicense for Sentai and nothing more. Does Nico Nico have apps for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in Japan, does Dwango like Crunchyroll for a potential future takeover so much speculation so little time. Or maybe Crunchyroll has money, Dwango has a show.

Hoping that CR can get the rest of the seasons of Da Capo on here, holy cow that would be one hell of a marathon to get through lol

Da Capo III going into my watchlist
so far I have to say that their announcements are pretty solid, quite a few short type shows but they still have some good announcements (Oreshura and Maoyuu just being a few examples)

Chihayafuru 2 announcement for next week I'm guessing

So far, I am 10 for 18 as far as Crunchyroll predictions(I only seem wrong on Nekomonotari(Black) and Puchimas so far) and was wrong about 1 Funimation prediction(Maoyu) and am likely at least 1 for 2 on my TAN exclusive predictions(since AoD is streaming Tamako Market). For the record, I didn't include Love Live or Bakumatsu Roman in my predictions so you have that. And it looks like Viz is not streaming any new simulcast for Winter.

Link to predictions post: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-776470/winter-2013-anime?pg=16#41813143

Here is the list of series that are premiering in less than 7 days from Countdown as of 7:45 pm EST

Da Capo III: 12 hours 15 minutes(Saturday, January 5th 10 pm JST) Crunchyroll simulcast
Oreshura: 14 hours 15 minutes(Sunday, January 6th at midnight JST) Crunchyroll simulcast
AKB0048 Next Stage: 15 hours 15 minutes(Sunday, January 6th 1 am JST)
Minami-Ke Tadaima: 15 hours 15 minutes(Sunday, January 6th 1 am JST)
Hakkenden: 17 hours 13 minutes(Sunday, January 6th 2:58 am JST) Crunchyroll simulcast
Senran Kagura: 1 day 10 hours(Sunday, January 6th 8:30 am JST)
Love Live: 1 day 12 hours(Sunday, January 6th 10 pm JST) Crunchyroll simulcast
Ishida & Asakura: 1 day 12 hours(Sunday, January 6th 10:27 pm JST) Crunchyroll simulcast
Amnesia: 2d 13h(Monday, January 7th 11:30 pm JST)
The Unlimited: 2d 15h(Tuesday, January 8th 1:35 am JST) Crunchyroll simulcast
Bakamatsu Roman: 2d 16h(Tuesday, January 8th 2:05 am JST) Crunchyroll simulcast
Senyuu: 3d 15h(Wednesday, January 9th 1:35 a.m JST)
Tamako Market: 4d 14h(Thursday, January 10th 12:30 a.m JST) UK: Anime on Demand simulcast
GJ-bu: 4d 15h(Thursday, January 10th 1:29 a.m JST)
Gdgd Fairies 2: 4d 15h(Thursday, January 10th 1:40 am JST) Crunchyroll simulcast
Sasami-san: 5d 15h(Friday, January 11th 1:25 am JST)
Vividred Operation: 5d 15h(Friday, January 11th 1:30 am JST)
Haganai Next: 5d 16h(Friday, January 11th 1:55 a.m JST)
Kotoura-san: 5d 16h(Friday, January 11th 2 am JST)
Mondai-ji-Taichi: 6d 15h(Saturday, January 12th 1:30 a.m JST)
Chihayafuru 2: 6d 16h(Saturday, Januar 12th 1:53 a.m JST)

Since Crunchyroll is not saying when the next two annoucements are, and Monday would be the first likely day for another annoucement, it looks like Minami-ke Tadaima will be late or unlicensed. Senran Kagura will be late and likely be Funimation's. Amnesia would have to be announced by Monday morning to be on time. Senyuu would have to be announced on Tuesday to be on time(that could be the next annoucement). GJ-Bu is a Wednesday series so that could be announced with Senyuu. All of the Friday in Japan/Thursday in US shows except for Kotoura-san are likely not to be on Crunchyroll(I still think Funimation will license Vividred Operation, and they could license Kotoura-san for the comedy). Monday-ji-Taichi is a Kadokawa show and likely a Sentai license(so it might appear on CR) and I have no doubt about Chihayafuru 2 being on CR.

There are 3 TBD boxes at the moment so Senyuu, GJ-bu, and Chihayafuru 2 are the most likely ones.

Out of curiosity, what makes you expect that? I have trouble predicting Viz since their picks seem to be pretty diverse, at least in who they come from.

WTK posted about it in the Crunchyroll Lineup thread in the Fandom Post forums, and this was the link that WTK posted.

I'm not certain I'd bank on that yet, since the response from Viz is essentially "Nothing I know about yet", but without saying they won't have anything.

If they don't have a new simulcast, that would be something of a reversal for them as it appears autumn 2011 was the last time they were satisfied with relying on a simulcast continuing from a previous season instead of announcing a new one.

Given the need to feed Neon Alley, I would have thought they might have even stepped up their efforts. If they don't get a new simulcast this season, that could be an early indication it isn't faring well, or at least is putting a strain on their resources.

It will be interesting to see if Funimation maintains their number of simulcast (especially if one factors in Kingdom, which I believe is also ending). If we don't count it, I believe they would have 4 series to replace, and I see only two (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT and Hetalia) that appear to be a lock.

Hopefully they will announce their simulcasts at Anime Los Angeles this weekend, and we won't have to speculate on what they will be based on shows whose premieres pass that CR doesn't announce.

Updates to initial message:

Added information on announced CR simulcasts of Bakumatsu Gijnden Roman, Da Capo III, gdgd Fairies 2, and The Unlimited Hyobu Kyosuke
Added information on announced AoD simulcasts of Maoyuu and Tamako Market.
Added information on episode length for Beast Saga.
Corrected 3 URL link errors found in "Announced Crunchyroll simulcasts:" section.

They should have had their industry panel last night, but ANN hasn't posted any Funimation news, so we may have to wait.

If TAN really is streaming Sasami-san@Ganbaranai, this may be the season I actually get a paid membership there. Previously, none of their exclusive titles have interested me enough. Also, I was wondering how many simuclasts SHAFT has had. I could think of only 3: Nisemonogatari (crunchy), Mariaholic Alive (TAN), the latest Hidamari Sketch (TAN). Earlier seasons of the last two may also have had simulcasts, but I couldn't come up with any other series. Anyone know of other SHAFT simulcasts?

Natsu no Arashi (CR, both seasons)
Dance in the Vampire Bund (Funimation, very late start)

I don't think you can say TAN is a certainty yet though. While it's extremely likely that both Sentai and AoD have the series, TBS may want to stay away from TAN after the leak last season. Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but the less series those yellow sub lovers get their hands on the better.

There is another full series coming plus Kizumonogatari movie and a few episodes of Nekomonogatari ( Shiro ) if we're lucky this year. Then more monogatari series for the next few years as there are lots more novels and the series sells over 60000 discs of everything it makes, a license to print money. Shaft is rolling in yen from this franchise...
