Winter 2013 anime

TheAncientOne wrote: I wonder if people in Japan go searching online for the episodes when they aren't aired within hours of when the first station someone else in Japan airs them. It appears that they do. Raw anime torrents are more popular than subbed ones, and there's plenty of low quality raw streaming sites with tons of views too. That's not even counting popular Japanese p2p applications like Share. Of course some of those views/downloads would be from people outside Japan, and then there's some views by people that wouldn't stay up to watch it on TV anyway, but that doesn't change my point. |

It looks like there will be a 15 minute CG anime premiering in February: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-01-10/straight-title-robot-anime-tv-anime-made-with-mikumikudance. The article doesn't list which TV station will broadcast it, but says that it will also air on niconico. This counts as a winter anime, right?

Yes, with a February premiere, it would be a winter title. The translation of the information on the website lists the following regarding the broadcast: (Tue) (tentative) February 5, 25:30 - 25:45 Tokyo Metropolitan Television (Wed) 24:00 ~ 24:15 Sun June 2, Tochigi TV Since that February date is listed as tentative, it may be prudent to hold off listing it as a winter anime for now. |

Funimation got Puchim@s |

Work hard, play hard, watch anime.

believes that D-Frag and Nisekoi deserve an anime

Well that was unexpected. Except for Hetalia Funimation had shown no interest in shorts, and Puchimas! is an unusual short in that it airs 5 times a week. As usual, Funimation's news section on their own website is slow on the draw. As of this moment, they have no article on this. |

Just gotta thank you for taking the time to organize this little mess. It sure does save me a lot of time scrounging what I'm not going to watch.

They may have licensed idolmaster but then again it's more likely Sentai has idolmaster since they have xenoglasia. Maybe Funi just wanted to license something.

It looks like Funi posted a message on their twitter and facebook about an hour ago (~30 min before CR news) saying "FUNimation EVS members! Go to the elite member forums for an exclusive scoop!" That's an interesting way for them to make the announcement. Funimation simulcasting a short, Little Busters getting licensed halfway through... What's the world coming to! |

ANN updated their article on Funimation's Puchimas simulcast with this tidbit:
Funimation noted in its announcement that it will have more simulcasts to announce on Friday and next week. So Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT tomorrow and Senran Kagura next week, or visa versa? Updates to initial message: Added information on announced Funimation simulcast of Puchim@s - Petit iDOLM@STER Changed link for AoD's announced simulcast of Tamako Market to link to first episode. Added sections with links to Funimation and TAN simulcast announcements. Placed displayed reduced size chart in spoiler to reduce normally displayed length of initial post. NOTE: If someone in the UK could verify the link I have for the first episode of Tamako Market at Anime on Demand actually works, I would appreciate it. Normally an available episode shows up in the "List of Available" episodes at the bottom. On the other hand, I do see a flash of video before it reports my IP as being in the United States. |

It says the time until the episode will become available, which is a little under 17 hours as of this post. Looks like it'll premiere tomorrow at 3:30pm. |
