Is this the first time CR has picked up something that late into the season? I find it unusual. I know nothing abut the series and I refuse to watch stuff without seeing them in order so I'll wait to either hear a review and the original 6 episodes when they get a chance.

Little Busters! is the latest ever pickup for Crunchyroll(since they picked it up after 13 episodes had aired in Japan) and Crunchyroll has picked up simulcasts half into the season before like with the first season of gdgd fairies. Basically, Crunchyroll doesn't give up on trying to acquire as many series as they can, and the contract with Nippon TV(NTV) must have taken longer than usual due to factors unknown to us.

Crunchyroll will likely have the first 6 episodes up within two weeks to a month.

Busters was latest that I know of, one full season late ~ Giant Killing was about 7 episodes in when they announced it.

If this is a direct streaming license, then the "English Speaking Countries" license might be because the production committee was waiting until someone passed on the English Language rights. And if it was a sublicense (there are lots of Sentai titles with this set of countries), then the full range of issues that can delay a home video license can be the explanation ~ including the company just taking time to decide if they want to license it.

Updates to initial message:

Added information on Crunchyroll simulcast of GJ Club (GJ-bu).
Added information on AoD simulcast premiere of Maoyu.
Adjusted simulcast dates of AoD simulcasts of Sasami-san@Ganbaranai! and Tamako Market, based on next episode availability.

It seems AoD can't keep a consistent simulcast day for anything but Magi. (Well, Maoyu qualifies, assuming they actually post the third episode on Friday as scheduled). If they are still around next season, I am wondering if it I shouldn't just drop listing a simulcast day for their series.

AoD is now showing the first episodes of their two remaining simulcasts:

The Problem Children Have Arrived at Hakoniwa, Haven't They?:

The next episode is scheduled for Friday, March 1

Student Council's Discretion Lv. 2 :

The next episode is scheduled for Thursday, February 28

Despite the second episode being scheduled for Thursday, I believe the first episode was posted on Friday, since I checked the AoD site last night to obtain the link for Maoyu, and did not see at it that time (which would have already been Friday morning in the UK).

In an addendum to my previous message, I see they have yet again changed the simulcast day for Sasami-san. The next episode is now slated for Monday, February 25. I think with the next update I'll just provide a link to their home page that reads "See site for schedule" or similar.

Regarding AoD and the saga of Sasami-san, Friday is the "simulcast" day. They are scheduled to put it live on Friday (the forced one-week delay that I'm guessing is in the licence agreement + one day because.... well they can't actually pull off the "same day" thing). The problem is that so far they've only made it to schedule once. It was episode three, in case anybody is wondering. Although I do believe it went live without subtitles, which is a very common (read, nigh-certain) event.

Basically, AoD really are useless when it comes to schedules. Only Magi seems able to keep to schedule, with just about everything else being delayed. And even after the delay we often get no subtitles, or subtitles in French, or subtitles that take up about 70% of the screen being in place instead, so there are further delays while they try to fix that.

The schedules are meant to be Maoyu/Problem Children/Sasami-san on Fridays, and Student Council/Tamako Market/Magi on Thursdays. But like I say, the reality of when they'll actually go live is something I'm thinking of turning into a gameshow, as guessing it is starting to feel like one.

Still, I suppose we should be happy they've managed to get all six live. Even if three are now half a season behind.

Oh, and I can confirm both Problem Children and Student Council both went live Friday afternoon UK time. I remember seeing them and screaming several expletives so great was my shock.
