Anime imo, is just the same as watching a series, just that much better

Its not that its animated that makes it childish, but some people like to think that o.O

Either way, i kinda wish i was older so i had have more time to read / watch manga / anime, and most of the old animes i've watched anyways, still a long way to go though :D

Currently watching Ashita no Joe, and all i can say is that even if its old the story is so good

Also one of my old teachers is an anime fan aswell, even had a anime fan club running in school after hours i guess he was around 40-50 or so

32 here. Been watching anime since DBZ! My brothers still watch it too. I remember it being touted as gruesome and adult back in the 90's, commercials being aired on the Sci-Fi channel about it and that is when I originally began watching it. Really got into it during Toonami and now just watch it online.

if anyone has a problem with an older person watching anime they're insecure. I'm 31 and my wife is 29 and we both enjoy the hell out of it.

I'm 23.

Most animes are aimed at 13-18, I think because the main characters are always in that age bracket.

40,

i've been watching anime since g-force (gatchaman) was on tv, starblazers, the entire robotech series (3 times!).
back when they were renting dub/sub vhs i went through animenations entire catalog. btw the owners of animenation (local here in tampa fl) are i think in thier late 40's . i work with a lady who is somewhere past 60 and she loves cowboy bebop. so i dont think anyones ever too old for anime.

I am 23 and have been enjoying anime for 13 years now. I don't think of it as something to grow out of. I think of it as another effective medium to enjoy good stories! Also a great way to relax after my grad studies.

Robotech, Sailor Moon, and Pokemon were my childhood favorites.

35.
Dont feel too old to be watching anime
But i sometimes feel a bit akward when im on conventions or social gatherings.
Migth be that there arent too many in my age group going on cons and anime related social gatherings and the few that do is outnumbered 1 to 10 by youngsters.

My first anime was Macross, do you remember love, but that was the time i diddnt even now it was anime or what it was.

Don't worry I've been watching since Voltron, robotech, speed racer. I even recorded Sailor moon and Ronin Warriors everyday and watched it before going to school. I recently sat down and watched all of CardCaptor Sakura with my one year old. She dances everytime she hears the opening theme!

Its really cool to see us older members posting in one place, i was feeling self-conscious posting with the teen crowd. I remember having to pay body parts and signing contracts of first born child to get poorly copied VHS tapes of anime. Im so glad it is easy to get to now.

Well, I am 22 and I probably will never grow out of anime. It's just so much fun to watch.
I don't really know anyone from the older generation, unless you include my Anime Club teacher back in High School. I think he was forced to take the club responsibility, but he actually started to like anime from needing to watch it for the club. It's even funnier knowing he used to be a very involved football player back in his high school years!
It's nice to see there is an older generation out there. Helps you not feel so alone. That's for sure!
