Well, I also grew up watching those.
I really don't care when people say I'm stuck in my childhood or I am acting like a kid for watching anime.

Thanks for bringing back memory lane. Personally, my favorite when I was a kid was Cardcaptor Sakura.

You guys are all young sprouts. I'm 60 and just recently discovered anime and manga after getting real stale on all my sf reading. Kind of used up all the possible themes, I think. Loving the Japanese slant on things. Pretty comfortable with Jap culture since I used to practice Japanese Buddhism (Nichiren Shoshu). No apologies here for watching/reading this stuff. My girlfriend is 54 and she won't admit that she thinks I'm strange. :-)

Thanks, rcsatcrunchyroll for the reference information on 'the W-word'!

But, since the current version of 'the W-word' refers to "a slur used to describe a white person who is obsessed with Japanese culture," does it mean the same if you're not white? Or is there another word to describe everyone else? I only ask so that if someone calls me a name I'm unfamiliar with, I'll know.

You're my new hero.

I'm glad that there are other older people out there who like to watch anime too.

I am in my mid - forties and love watching anime! I believe that it is for all ages. As for me, anime provides me with stress relief and I find it to be relaxing to get away from real life for awhile. I grew up on it and I am still a fan of anime.

I happen to be on the older side and love anime. I also enjoy a good manga now and then.

Oh, definitely. My 53rd birthday is coming up this month. Sometimes I wonder where all the time went. I work too hard and too much. Reading books, some manga, and watching lots of Crunchyroll is my time away from all that. I love my job, but there have to be other things in life.

Many of my peers are so wrapped up in their jobs, they often don't do much beyond that, and maybe watch some sports. This past weekend I attended Pirates Fest on Tybee Island, and climbed the old Tybee lighthouse and enjoyed the view from there. Then I want home and watched some of my current favorites like Valvrave. That and nursed some stiff muscles from climbing the lighthouse. Ouch! That is a lot of stairs.

The point is, I do a lot of things, and Anime is a part of the mosaic of my life. Take a piece of the mosaic away, and I just wouldn't be me.

I dont think anime should be considered as something for a spesific age group because everyone can find an Anime they can relay to, relax to and forget everything that troubles them, i meen ive got as many others do problems of my own, but when i watch anime, i forget about them for a while or understand that my problems arnt that bad as i first thought, all i need is a short break from everything to see that it isnt so bad as i made it to be, and thats why i think anime is for every age because everyone needs a breather sometimes or sometime to relax and dont worry about anything

Man, I wish my parents were more like some of the older anime fans. My parents have always seemed to resent my like of anime and interest in Asian cultures

they should be happy that you care about other cultures, because if you do that a good thing, it only meens you will understand people from other countries better, you will be able to compare whats good and bad about diffrent countries, and most important of all, it opens up many more paths to walk when you grow up and wants to start making something out of your life, because you can never find everything in one place
