43, been watching anime since astroboy and starblazers. There is no age limit on anime. I will be watching anime to the day I die and could care less what others think.

Clearly there are people older than me replying, but I do feel sort of too old when I am trying to post. There are a lot of "what would you do if" type of posts where I just don't have the imagination to pretend my actions if something anime like happened. I feel very out of place when I see those. Forums in general make me feel old now because I don't have the patience to be trolled and it takes rare threads like this to actually interest me to take the time to reply.

I feel out of place on the forums and it shows because I almost never post.

This might help?

Not at all. again it's assigning arbitrary value statements. usually with the implication or outright statement that cartoons are in some way intrinsically inferior to anime. I don't accept the latter assertion and find most people who insist 'that anime is not cartoons' find the term 'cartoon' to be an insult to their precious 'anime'. I for one, think they should get over themselves.

I've never spent any time on the forums here but this thread was at the top of the list on the main page. I just had my 34th birthday (Yay me!), and I still love anime. Yes, some times I have to be choosy about which anime I spend the time to watch since there are times that I'm very busy with real life and not everything catches my attention fully. But I am still happy to be able to watch those lovely gems that come out now and then and the few so-so ones that I still watch as well.

Watching anime shouldn't be restricted by age if you ask me. It should be by enjoyment.

I don't think there's a need to worry about that. Everyone has their preferred entertainment and for everyone here it's anime

22 here. been watching for as far back as i can remember. doubt ill ever stop too. im in film school now and i actually get a lot of inspiration from anime in almost everything ive worked on so far. a good story is a good story, and having some crazy over the top fights every now and then doesnt hurt either.

I'm really happy to see 40-something anime fans responding in this thread, but you 20-somethings posting in an "older anime fans?" thread are making me feel, well, old...

Hell, I was married with two sons by the time I was 22 but I was hardly an "older" anime fan at that age.
