Your never "Too Old" for anime! Being older just means you've had a great chance to see anime evolve over time! I'm 45 and still watching! And I will continue until either I go blind or die! I can go deaf and still watch it thanks to subtitles!

In the last year or so, I certainly have felt that way. Doesn't mean I'll stop watching anime or enjoying animation in general, but when I'm often the oldest one to show up to cosplay meets or I fangirl over a Sailor Jupiter poster in the vendor's hall of a convention and find out that a friend I'd met at the con had never even HEARD of Sailor Moon... Yeah, let me tell you that experience in particular really made me feel aged.

And I'm pretty positive if I wasn't planning to work in animation, my mom and grandparents would wonder when the heck I'm going to outgrow these "silly cartoons" and listen to what they'd consider "real music" instead of Disney soundtracks and J-Pop. ^^; I can't quite speak from forum experience though, since this is only my second or third day even using the CR forums.

At the anime / manga meet-up I go to every few weeks I'm the oldest there by an easy decade. They've kinda nicknamed me the "mother" of the group. I've never felt out of place as many of them have seen the same anime I grew up watching (and love them). In fact, the only time I have issues is finding out I'm well ahead of them with the current season since several can't afford streaming services while in college.

According to the masses who think Anime is for kids, I am too old for it. But given they make Anime for not just teens but young adults, which I would consider myself that, I think I am fine. But I know people, not just on CR, a lot older than me who watch Anime, so I think I am fine for the next 20+ years. I just need to find a girl who also likes Anime so they won't say anything about it.

Anime Cons, other Cons with Anime Section, or monthly meet-ups for finding someone work the network. Most true adults allow their friends to have non-standard interests, at least the one I would value as friends.

Luckily my friends could care less one way or another what my interests are. I also know enough dirt on them that if they tried to care I could just blackmail... i mean... well yeah blackmail them into going back to not caring.

Hello there! I'm 33. I have no problem with my age and I have no problem talking with younger people. There are plenty of younger people that actually feel older than they really are, feel more comfortable talking with older adults and they can have a mature conversation with someone. Back when I was 20 almost all my friends were around 30. I see your point but I honestly think that age doesn't mean that much anymore. Back when I was 20, I was already living by myself, I have a stable job and I lived in England and Italy for a year. Many people assumed that I was immature for my age but I actually found plenty of 30-40 years olds that were extremely immature and acted like the bad stereotype of teens.
I think immaturity or maturity come from your experiences (or lack of experiences) in life and they are not that related with a number on your driver's license, but that just my opinion.
Still, I understand perfectly someone who rather have friends with the same age or the other way around.

Anyone who can say they remembers 7 Zark 7 and can say akira changed their lives is 30+,.. Now being too old for it is entirely in the eye of the beholder. The day i watch an anime and say,.iont get it,.. is the day i will quit. Meantime,.. I need another action adventure with mythic swords and ki blasts,..thank you

I find the day you stop trying to successfully do a kamehamaha is the day you are too old for anime...
