My first introduction into the world of anime was in the late 70s with G-Force/Battle of the Planets, even tho I was only 4 or 5, I was totally hooked! A few years later came along the greats Voltron and Robotech, and its all history since then

I'm 20 and I mean that's not really old for being an anime fan. But I don't see myself ever dropping the hobbie. On my day off this week I didn't feel like doing anything at all so I just laid around and watched anime all day.

I'm 66, and I started investigating manga and anime when I retired in 2010. I find manga a bit more welcoming than anime (at least the anime that makes it to Crunchyroll) because it seems that the vast majority of anime are totally and sometimes exclusively aimed at people in their teens and 20s. That's the nature of the business, after all! But every once in a while there comes along an anime that earns my total love, even though it's set among very young people (e.g., Ano Hana and Melancholy) And lots of even the ones narrowly aimed at young-uns are still lots of fun.
Manga, though, is a bit better for this Oldie because, with so much of it being available in scanlation, I can winnow through to find ones I truly love.
Best of all, when enjoying anime or manga I am simultaneously learning a bit about life in Japan. That is one interesting country!

Nice to see there's alot of older fans! When I joined the forums, I thought I would be considered older fan as 24, but this doesn't seem to be the case

36 here! Absolutely feel out of place sometimes. The people I know my own age don't get anything I like. Anime, BABYMETAL, Playstation, etc.
Apparently I'm supposed to like Breaking Bad, football, Survivor, classic rock, county, and all gaming should be PC. (Not only that, but specifically MMOs)
Not that I hate all of those, Rush still kicks ass.

Not exactly very old, but I would like to watch and read all the good old anime/manga, like Crying Freeman, Lupin or the original Kinnikuman (I heard Hiromi Arakawa grew up with this one).

Ppl do judge me for liking video games and anime still, I couldn't care less.
I'm a good mother, a good friend, a hard worker and still am a child at heart.

yoroshiku ne~!!! ^.^

Winning.

I'm 31 yrs old. I'm a Dad of 4. I like anime & also don't have as much time to watch it as I used to have. Haven't got too much judgemental attitudes from others and recently been introducing my kids to some anime slowly (Pokemon XY, Poyopoyo, Chi's New Home).

29 is old? Sorry - I have you beat by 20 years. I remember watching Speed Racer in the early 70's on American TV (and a few others around the same time), so I guess they were my first. The first Anime show I saw as "anime" (e.g., not significantly redubbed/edited for American TV) was Black Magic M-66. Of course, at the time, we watched it in a hotel room at a sci-fi/gaming convention, with no dubbing or subbing at all - merely someone showing it and telling us as much of the plot as he understood.

I'm 32, but I only got into anime about 5 years ago. I don't watch any tv other than anime lately. Nothing is as good. I don't foresee my love of anime ever going away.
