If i have family in Japan like my uncle and aunt can I live their with them like permanently or is it only still like a period of time. I know little about the visas requirements but I'm wondering is the only way to live their permanently to marry someone who is Japanese, I'm half but my uncle is a native

( I Know you may say ask my uncle but I'm only just wondering and I don't get to talk to him that often.)

I'm sure someone else on CR knows much better and can say much more than I can. Nonetheless, a brief online search for "permanent residency Japan" yielded some information. You can do it yourself and thus see it all first-hand instead of me trying to regurgitate it here. In short, though, it looks like permanent residency is not an easy thing to get in Japan. Outside of marrying a Japanese citizen, it looks like you have to live there a fairly long time AND contribute significantly to the country (AND not run afoul of the law while at it-- come to think of it, maybe the U.S. would do well to imitate some of these policies). Merely having some extended family there doesn't seem to get you much of anything as far as legal immigration status is concerned.
