What anime has made you feel the most emotion?

hpulley wrote: More major plot spoilers, continued from my previous reply above... Do not read if you have not seen Kokoro Connect : Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Obviously super emotional when Heartseed took over Iori, pitched her into the river, told them one of their personalities would die but let them choose and say goodbye to their friends, at first she as strong but then she broke down while inside Inaba's body. Incredible stuff. I yelled no... Inaba pretending to be Iori to check if Taichi was right that he would always know her personality. She feared losing herself because she molded her personality as she thought was expected of her. Heartseed telling Inaba that Taichi had fallen, presumably off a cliff to his death when it was just off a branch. Her professing her love to him, even though he loves Iori. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide "...pitched her into the river..." The way you worded that made me laugh really hard. _______________________________________________________________________ Clannad (almost cried twice), Kanon, Steins;Gate. Many anime that aired on Toonami back in the day... because of nostalgia. Like that in G Gundam where Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Master Asia talks one last time with Domon before he dies. When they put that kanji up one the screen, I was like, "Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnn... that was saaaaaaad." |

I'm rather stoic but Naruto (Shippuden) made me cry a few times.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide 3rd Hokage's funeral, when kakashi dies and meets his father, and Naruto meeting his parents via their chakra residue I liked Naruto because of the action and comedy blend, but there are very sad moments as well. It provides a real variety of emotions. |

AnoHana
Air Kanon Gosick These four in particular made me actually cry. Something that doesn't usually happen. On a scale of tears, Air is the top as it left me depressed for a week. Anohana is second because the ending was so beautifully done and the voice actors were simply amazing in actually showing pain and sadness. Kanon next once everything comes together it's such a shocking turn, and Gosick right after because of events that would spoil the story. XD |

I'm surprised and sad that no one has mentioned Code Geass yet!
While watching Code Geass, I had tears running down my cheek, laughed out loud and a lot, grinned from ear to ear, got frustrated, screamed at my laptop, got really excited that I squealed aloud, fell in love with certain characters, rewind to rewatch scenes, etc. And most of the time I was like okay this is the last episode. I need to get back to work. One episode later.....okay one more. And I rarely cry, especially not when watching anime/movies. Only can think of maybe three that I've cried while watching? Fairy Tail is another one I watch and get filled with emotions. Had watery eyes a few times and lots of laughs. That Fantasia scene, definitely cried then. |

Oh and Chihayafuru. Happy feelings. Fangirl feelings when there's a Taichi x Chihaya scene.

Sadness: Clannad, Voices of a Distant Star, Time of Eve
Excitement: Code Geass, Steins;Gate, Baccano! Intrigue: Gankutsuou, Casshern Sins, and oddly enough -- Humanity has Declined Relaxation: Spice and Wolf, Mushi-shi, Gintama I normally wouldn't figure "relaxation" as an emotion, but I just remember watching Spice and Wolf, and feeling so content and laid-back. As with GIntama and Mushi-shi, they aren't really intense series that you think about when you think "emotional," but they influenced the way I felt quite a bit, so I need to put them on the list. Edit: Also, Bakemonogatari had its moments for nearly all of the above. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide When Araragi and Hitagi had their moment under the stars -- one of my favorite scenes in anime. That, and Tomoya's proposal to Nagisa in Clannad; No grand gesture or pricey ring, just a mutual understanding that the two are meant to support one another -- brilliant. |
