Reading Volume 7, and although I love the series as a whole I find this one so far to be more impactful just because of the subject its dealing with

I have been only able to get my hands on the books up to 9. Is that all that has been published so far or translated. I can't read anything but english and french so I have to wait for them to get translated I guess. :S

A quick question; as a bit more experienced in the SAO world. How would you recommend a person who have never read the LN to read it? (i mean in terms of the order of volumes and such) =)

There is actually a certain order to read it properly (very subjective really), only found out after finishing reading it. I'll try to find a source though, but bear in mind the side stories are packed on the Volume 2 and Volume 1 is the main story.

ok, i've read that some say you should read it chronologically, while others deem that too confusing (seeing as you have to read one chapter here and one there) some also say that you should read it as it is, but if you do find the source, that would be cool =)

I must admit i'm struggling abit with the non-chronological order that i've got the impression that the LN is written in. But at the same time the chronological order seems too -in lack of a better word- messy . if you get my drift :P

(not being from a english speaking country combined with midnight-ish time is not a good combo, lol )

I guess i probably won't struggle as much as i imagine, but when i read it, i want to read it properly. Lol, i can't really explain it, i'm just so focused on having the best time reading it. Although i know i'll have a good time either way. So i guess i'll just read it from volume 1 and out =)

Reading the light novels is a very interesting and fresh perspective since most people are used to watching anime or reading manga. The light novels allow the reader to really understand what's going on in the character's minds.

Right now the SAO anime is volume 3
Volumes 3 & 4 are the ALO arc chapters

cool, thanks for the reply =)

I guess i'll star at volume one, as i feel the relation is built better that way,and seeing that i don't mind reading what i just saw and so on =)

But i can't wait to sit down and immerse myself in the LN! =D (sometimes i prefer reading over Anime or movies :P)

I read em straight though, and I personally enjoy it that way. I mean, theoretically you should intermix the second book with the first... though I think it'd be a bit of a pain and is easier to just read in order.

I'd be curious to see how they run the GGO arc, simply because at that point they start their nice big theoretical conversations. Which makes for a nice read, but not necessarily the best show. Then again, they have a larger dose of combat compared to the rest of the series so far.

I can imagine the anime portraying the first episode of the GGO arc by including the first two chapters when Kirito has that conversation at the restaurant and when he's out with Asuna

If there is a second season, i'm most looking forward to the Excalibur story being animated

I'm actually really curious to where they'll stop the anime if they do the GGO Arc... because they could have the meanest of cliff hangers if they wanted

Since the series is really popular right now and if the animation studio wants more money, they'll have the anime include all of the ongoing light novels right now. There's definitely enough material to do a 2nd season

Alicization arc is pretty crazy so far, just a few more months until the next volume can be out and hopefully translated!

Yea? You'll have to let me know when book 11 comes out, things tend to slip my mind if i'm not active about them.

I could see them doing a 13 episode series for GGO next, but i'd rather them wait till Alicization actually finishes before they start an anime for it. I'd hate for them to get half way through it and have to wait before putting more out

there could be another 25 episode season if GGO is included as well as Excalibur and then Mother's Rosario

it'll definitely be a long while before Alicization could become animated so no worries :P

what's your favorite arc so far?
