I have been watching anime since I can remember, and I'm nearly 19. However I've realized as I've grown older that I can't stand anime with certain genres- specifically ecchi and loli. I have yet to see an anime in which these genres don't take from the plot.

What about you guys? Do you like animes with the ecchi or loli genre? Or, like me, will they make you completely ignore the series, no matter how great the plot may be?

I used to avoid ecchi but I have watched a few that I have found enjoyable and so have watched a few more... some which really bothered me. Some were really quite good. Though loli is disturbing and I really don't like it at all.

They mostly suck. Moe doesn't make good anime. Deep plots like what you find with seinen anime are what it's all about.

sometimes. like one of the newer anime that i like for example, Dakara Boku wa Echhi ga Dekinai! (So, I Can't Play H!) is pretty good. the storyline is actually pretty good, and the ecchi doesn't really take away potential from it. i'm enjoying it.

the only problem I had is that I started watching Dakara when it came out, just as I had finished High School DxD so it's hard to not compare between the two lol
I like them both though haha

But I think Oda Nobuna (1), Campione (2), Nakaimo (3) does it better this season than Dakara imo
I'm ok with ecchi as long as the show is good too

I'll watch any genre, as long as it's not yaoi/shouen ai- *shudders*. Other than that, as long as it entertains me, I'll be watching it.

Same, although I'm not afraid to dabble in yaoi/yuri/softcore hentai and sometimes it's not for the entertainment but the experience such as with Texhnolyze and Shigurui. Though I did very much enjoy both of those anime.

oda nobuna and nakaimo aren't ecchi by the way. but yeah, you're right. i was dissapointed with oda nobuna though. i thought it was gonna have 24 episodes, not 12. it would have been a lot better that way.

I don't mind Ecchi, TvTropes lists Chobits as an Ecchi series and it's one of my favorite anime of all time.

As for loli's...I LOVE LOLI'S! They're so adorable and soft and cuddly, even the murderously psychotic ones are cute. That said I won't watch an anime simply because of loli characters. They're more of a bonus if they turn up the anime I take an interest in.
