You guys should see it on Blu Ray, my god... I have the first two volumes now, episodes 1-4 and they are just gorgeous! I need to compare to the CrunchyRoll streams to see if they improved it much or if it is just the quality of Blu Ray or just my imagination because I bought the discs...

The 2nd disc has 52 bonus minutes! It has the Shinsekai Yori Chronicle which has some of the seiyuu in cosplay from the series in a pretend future library answering questions and asking questions of a Minoshiro along with some short seiyuu interviews. Then it has a making of segment where it shows the character designers, the animators, the colorists, the seiyuu, it was great to see how they make it! It seems that Shinsekai Yori is made all in Japan, not outsourced. Then finally they have a Seiyuu Talk segment with the 5 gals on the show after they spoke at a convention. Great stuff! Oh and a 24 page color booklet.

The 1st disc came with a soundtrack CD with both OP and ED and the music from at least the first 4 episodes. Great stuff!

i think im going to start this anime tomorrow

There is, it just isn't done like most other shows.

Deadpanditto is right, there is an OP that is played during the opening credits. It starts with the kids chorus and an electric guitar joins in. It is track one on the soundtrack CD. Lyrics for ED included, might have said that already.

BTW, the full length ED single finally comes out on the 25th, Wareta Ringo (sliced apples) with Yuki ni saku hana (flowers blooming in snow) as the "b side", if you remember when singles had a b side...

By the way, those 52 extra minutes... are they presented as a side extra feature (like in many of the BD of many Hollywood films) or are presented in the episodes themselves?

The people who made the disc call it the OP theme on Soundtrack CD1 so I will call it the OP too...

The 52 extra minutes on BD2 are in three specials, the second Shinsekai Yori Chronicles (first one was on volume one), a "making of special" where they show the people making characters and designs and recording voices etc., and a Seiyuu Talk special with the five main female seiyuu.

No extra scenes in the way I think of them from Hollywood movie discs which will include extra scenes which were originally cut from the final theatre version. Some discs will have whole extra OAV or unaired episodes (not so far for Shinsekai Yori ) but I have never seen extra or deleted scenes on an anime disc. Sometimes the version on the DVD is slightly different than how it originally aired on TV but it will not be significantly longer with extra scenes or anything like that in my experience.

So how much did it cost blu-rays and shipping with currency conversion and all that jazz? Last time i ordered from japan it was like $18 shipping and all i got was the Clannad psp game. Not to mention $1 ther is worth like only 86ish yen i think.

Well, it was kind of embedded in their genes, but seeing how thy are already figure out all these truths of the world, i think at least a couple of them with get past it.

Then why bring it up rather than just watch the series? Or go to wikipedia/tvtropes and spoil it for yourself? Gayness isn't considered anything different and sex is considered stress relief thus everything is normal to them so why would they bother changing?
