It seems like Saki got mind f*cked by Shun at the end.... But it's sad how that one dude died by that monster/creature/organism/mutant?

Yeah, I think so.

I'm sort of waiting to see how this plays out since there's only 1 episode left.

This show makes me want to get the light novel to see the "whole story."

They have too much to explain in one episode... on top of the zillion things they have already skipped and changed, sigh... people who haven't read the book will need the bonus Shinsekai Yori Chronicles videos from the discs to understand. Just enjoy it and don't think too hard, you haven't been shown enough to know what is happening.

I'd love to read the full length novel but though Kishi's novels are popular, this one hasn't been translated. I was wondering if you read the novel in Japanese; is there a sequel? x

Assuming the ending is rushed could you give us some backstory/filler to make sure its a good end? This was my only fear with the series, it simply running out of space to fit everything

There is no sequel or plans for one that I know of.

Yes, I read it in Japanese of course. I have a number of his novels. A Chinese version is around but I don't read Chinese.

If you want an English version be sure to visit Vertical Press' facebook page and tell them you want one by liking it or something. They need 4500 pledges before they can break even.

I would love to do it but have no time as I have so many other books to read and translation takes 5-10 times as long... as it does to read over a thousand pages of Japanese in the first place.

If you want to be spoiled now, check out the novel spoilers thread on MAL to which I have contributed.

In a week, after the finale has aired here I can fill you in with what I see as being missed.

Thank you! I've just added my pledge. I might try reading the original, though by the time I'm finished the translation will likely be out!

I am on their Facebook page and I did "like" it but how do you do the pledge? I'm much more familiar with Twitter than I am Facebook.

Ah, sorry! By 'pledge', I meant that I 'liked' the Vetical Press page. I don't know if the page administers will see it, but I also tagged them in a post on my page, expressing interest in reading the translation. Hopefully we wont have to wait long, as they commissioned a translation of 'The Crimson Labyrinth'..

Theres also a poll/post on tumblr which they want signatures on for SSY translation somewhere I believe.

That and bother them every now and then on twitter!

Ah yes, you can also 'sign' the petition by following and posting on the tumblr page, although you need a tumblr account to do so:

If you don't have a Tumblr account, tweeting them or posting on their Facebook wall that you're interested in seeing a translation work fine. E-mail is also an option, though I recommend Tumblr. All you need to do is "like" the Tumblr post if you have an account, no signature or anything like that. However, keep in mind "liking" on Tumblr means you will be preordering the novel if they get to 4,500 so make sure you're willing to buy it.

I knew they'd end up having to rush the ending, though I don't know how much they cut out. I think they've done a good job with it though, I'm not having too much trouble keeping up. Hopefully they explain everything they need to in the last episode without it being poorly directed or rushed, I'd like a satisfying ending.

I always wondered if they would do a crowd sourcing style attempt for it tbh, if they got enough pledges they translate and ship it out to all then sell normally after, else noone spends anything and they dont translate it. Would seem to fix some of their issues with its size/cost associated
