What a satisfying ending to a very underrated anime. The only thing that was left unanswered is the mystery surrounding Maria and Mamoru's fate. It is implied that they died at the hands of the queerats.

Their fates have been confirmed long time ago.

That they were dead yes and we never saw them again in the novel either but the exact circumstances were never described which is too bad. I kind of wish Saki had make Squealer tell them what he knew but it didn't come up, what with all the other people that had died I guess...

It is part of the mystery I guess. It is Saki's narration so you only know what she knew, what people told her.

Still disappointed that they changed it so much but ah well, still good!

This. Was. An. Amazing. Series.

Well for the finale episode, I thought it was alright. I mean, the beginning part started off strong with the music and dialogues along with a bit of action.

I guess some questions in this episode were answered by that Reerat. I also like how he declares..

That part was memorable in this episode imo. Too bad for him though the way he ended up.

Dat memories.

Overall rating: 8.5/10. I highly recommend this anime to anyone who is interested from CR's lineup.

I think Saki dose not want to ask Squeara (or whatever his name is) about Mamoru and Maria (in the anime version; I don't read the novel yet) because she knows the answer already and that would be painful to hear it.

No L R distinction in Japanese, Ra La is the same really, romanization rules vary, hence the funny subs. Squealer makes more sense to me but I don't speak queerat...

I wish she had thought that to herself but unless I am forgetting, she didn't think that to herself at the time. She thinks of Maria, Mamoru and Shun often but not while questioning Squealer IIRC. Might have to read it yet again...

I was looking if they had a dvd with English subtitles, but I could only find the novel in Japanese. I saw a blog that said they would translate the novel into English if they has 4.5k likes. Not sure if that's true, but here's the page. I wanted it to be translated so badly because I wanted to have my copy...something to have a copy until I saw it show up on Ebay:

Hey hpulley can you list/describe some of the parts that the anime left out that were mentioned in the Light Novel? I'm really curious about understanding the entire plot without having to go back and read the entire novel.

You have me curious about saying "...disappointed they changed so much." I mentioned earlier in a reply to a thread my disappoint from the anime standpoint but I no nothing via the LN.

Well, I'm pretty happy with the show. After Psycho-Pass, this is one of the most thought provoking shows to come along in recent years. I'm very happy that studios will risk adapting material like this, instead of just pushing more harem animes.

That being said, the show wasn't perfect. There were some pacing problems. Worse still, some things weren't explained very well. You can explain some of that from the fallible narrator perspective, or just adaptation problems, but it it still leaves something to be desired. I didn't have any complaints with the animation: the show was stylized and experimented, which I find interesting.

To paraphrase AnimeKami: a good end will make you forgive a lot. Overall, I give this show 8/10.

Not a bad ending but not one that lives up to the rest of the series I've gotta say, still, overall a brilliant series. And a genre I want to see more of!

everything and anything can be justified with a good ending and i have to say this was a good last episode

ie plot holes and other blemishes do not matter

The only complaints are about minor continuity issues. If the series had nothing else going for it, I could see these being an issue.
