Episode 8
Some are into yaoi some are into yuri and some are into both but some are into none of the above But that doesnt matter , what matters is how that part is adapted from the books and the way it is written, does not work well with the story of this title. They dwell on it too much in this episode that for me it was not interesting at all. From the start I always have a problem with the writting done of this anime. |

Episode 8 - Wtf.
You either have Javascript turned off or an old version of Flash Player. Get the latest Flash Player Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide I saw it coming from the picture but I did not expect that much yuri/yaoi shinanagins. I can understand how it linked in with what the librarian said about the bobonos but it should not be for 95% of the episode. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind yaaoi/yuri scenes but I did wish they let us know more, like what happened in the last 2 years & why is everyone in the class in a same sex relationship? (Poor Mamorou, forever alone) . Making Shun warning Saki about cats in the last couple of minutes was disappointing, they should have at least made one scene similar to Saki's when she saw the shadow of the trickster cat or something. |

As others have been saying, I agree that the way the episode was presented just seemed out of place and really didn't give me any more plot except the last 3 minutes. The yuri/yaoi stuff was basic pandering in a show that I hoped wouldn't need to stoop to that level. A-1 pictures has never been the best with adaptations or serious plotlines; however, their humorous stuff is great.
:: Some Spoilers Below :: I would have done the episode about the same minus some of the fanservice. I would have Mamoru act out due to him being without a partner to show what the effects of the genetic engineering would be. I would've done the classroom scene with the egg differently. When that head guy came in it should be more obvious what happened. I'm guessing Shun disrupted his Cantus when he got close which is against the rules. And finally, the end where Shun has those balls circling him makes no sense. The evil baby chick eye was ok. Could have been explained a bit. Is it a charm to protect him from cats? If so, why would he need it if he knows he is being sent away? This episode shows that timeskips are fairly difficult to pull off smoothly. |

yes ....
they sure didnt pull it off smoothly , you can really tell that the writer was having a hard time, its almost like the script is saying " I dont know how to do this part, help !!" |

Let me guess next weeks episode
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Shun retreats into the mountains, anticipating an attack by the "impure cat", the shadow beast created by the committee (since they can't take human life themselves). Shun's disappearance leads the committee to proclaim his death. Cue lots of crying. Whilst I've enjoyed the production values and the acting work, the plot so far has been very drawn out and boring. Eight episodes in and I still have no real idea what this anime is about. From Boy A and Crazy Emperor, I was hoping for some time travel, but it seems we're stuck with monster rats and cult leader committees. The only hope I've got is Saki's ending line from an early episode "If she[Maria] had died at birth, maybe so many people wouldn't have died......" |

I still don't know if Shun created the eye, or the head guy did as a "we are watching you" message. None of that exchange made any sense, it could be interpreted in very different ways. |

I don't prefer to watch yaoi or yuri, but so long as it's part of the story, I'm OK with it. As soon as I saw these scenes, I knew immediately that there would be plenty of people freaking out about the yaoi. Hardly anyone is complaining about the yuri, so yeah, there's definitely a double standard. This really shouldn't have been unexpected given the Bonobo setup several episodes ago. And, it's working to tell an important point, imo. |

I have to admit, that the yuri scene on the preview image tweaked my interest, since I havent even watched the series yet. Didn't know there was yaoi in it... though that doesnt kill my interest in the show.
I watched Loveless for the simple fact that I wanted to see the yuri around episodes 7-8 xD And then I watched the rest of the series. |

They dont have to go into details to show of both relationship and for it to be a part of the story , it took away the focus of what the plot really is which is about the secret all the kids shared. LIke I mention over and over, the writting of this anime is lacking in many ways. |

It's a difference in opinions. I don't think the writing is nearly as bad as you claim nor do I think these scenes took away focus from the story.
I probably should clarify my position: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide This is after a 2 year time jump. As the voice over makes clear, the kids are now teens, with all that entails. What's important here is not only is it natural for them to form relationships, but the Bonobo factor ensures that they will. Why bother with this? The Bonobo factor was used to ensure that no one would run rampant and harm others. The fact that Shun dumped Satoru, and not in a nice way, shows that something is seriously wrong with him. Add to that the eye in the egg and that "bad" interaction that proceeded it... well, all is not right in Denmark. And I think it was really important to show the relationships. The Bonobo factor no longer is working to control the kids. Plus they have realized and can counteract the brainwashing. They are a serious danger. This is probably why the adults haven't done much with the kids: They are afraid of the kids. Now, this is all speculation on my part. Regardless, I expect things will get more serious in the next few episodes. |

yes it is indeed a matter of who watches it .
but to me the last 3 minutes was the most important part of the story and to me their writting is consistently weak since the begining of this anime. I have friends who are scriptwriters and writers and the way they see and write things are just amazing . They share their opinions on whats a good writing and whats not . I guess I have higher standards because they way I see it , the writer just dont know how to make the story flow well, This anime has so much potential . |

Not to sound rude, but it sounds like you are letting your scriptwriter friends make your opinions for you (at least according to the sound of your post).
