Yeah, and also, some of us probably don't have the file to edit it or if they drew it, can't exactly change that either without massive smudging or blots. So its not as simple as just "making it better" with extra time.

You also should consider that some people didn't have electricity days before the contest deadline and/or on the day of the deadline due to natural disasters. And yes, I'm talking about Hurricane Sandy for my case (this could be the case for other people as well) for those who know about it. I live in the East Coast, and while my city was one of the worst places hit, I was fortunate enough to not lose electricity for days, but hours on separate days. And when I did have electricity, I didn't have internet, so I couldn't do touch ups like I wanted to before the deadline. I did however finish my entry in time before Hurricane Sandy hit my city.

i was hit by the hurricane too but i took it into account and my group worked late into the night to finish it... the hurricane is a disadvantage but the warning came a week before,

so the participants that rushed their work to be able to submit before the hurricane (like my group, and animefreak_XD) and actually made the effort to think and plan ahead will be at a disadvantageous

honestly, the wording of what you said kinda contradicts what your trying to say. but i totally understand.

like you said you knew it was coming and you worked and planned it out and finished.

the only problem is other people that didn't finish with the same issue as you, but you made the deadline.

i want it to be equally as fair for everyone, but other than late entries with a limited extension period as i suggested before, i can't think of any fair way that this can be done.

I dont mind the extension, but I cant really draw, I am a story teller, make a contest where one of the team draws another tells a story and the other does something else, that would be one for me... lol But I DID give it my current best.

UM, Thank you SailorBee!

Here are my two cents: Well, as much as I'd love to see more entries to the contest, I am also with those that believe it's a bit unfair to those who struggled to get their entries done in time.

I am a busy college student myself but I'm mostly saying it would be unfair considering one of my teammates struggled with balancing her time between work, a very dodgy internet connection, technical difficulties and even went without sleep for nearly two days in a row and yet she managed to get her entry done in time.

Getting it done in time and managing your time with those of our team was part of the challenge, I think. Also, lets not forget that we were given almost a whole month to work with our entries

I have to admit that an extension would be nice, because I could actually color mine in. But, I did get what I needed done before the deadline. I'm just worried that the "wow" factor would be lost on our judges because it's already been seen.... Not that it's super or anything, but since it's already here, it might be considered a little boring.

Sandy hit here, but I wasn't affected. I'll admit that I'm a procrastinator. I'll do my very best for the next contest, though -- it was good fun!

I stayed up until 2 about two for 2 nights, school nights btw, to get this done on time. If you extend it it won't be fair, and If I knew I would get extra time I would have done it more slow, and carefully, and I would have had time to buy a proper inking pen. My .005 pen nib broke halfway through outlining my picture, and i had to use sharpie, which bleeds more, and was ten times larger, which made the overall quality of my entry worse.
If the people really wanted to get this in on time, they would have done anything to do it, and for those still not done had plenty of time to finish by now...

Overall, I agree with anyone who thinks it should not be postponed. 3:

While I understand people's concern and excuse that "Oh I got this and this and this problem" and of course, that's completely understandable, I have to say that the deadline is completely fair. I mean, guys, we had a whole month. And you're telling me that you couldn't get this or that done? C'mon guys. Let's be serious. It's about time management.

I, too, am a busy college student, and I got my submission in. While it doesn't have all the detail and wonderfulness I'd like it to have, I'm gonna mainly blame that on my terrible digital art skills. :P

In all seriousness though, it was completely fair. We had more than enough time to do this. Those who did not make the deadline should've budgeted their time better. They knew they had this contest; they knew it was going to end at one time or another. That's it.

I see the pros and cons of extending the deadline, but can we please keep Sandy out of this? Honestly, there are people out there who lost children and parents, etc. And this really is just a drawing contest.

I think it would be unfair to those who've submitted, especially since we had a month to do this already. I stayed up really late and even did this in class and in the bus just to finish it in time. (Well but don't really mind this because it was my own fault I only saw this contest with only 2 weeks left.)

I also agree with Aceof2012Spades, I don't think we should bring up Hurricane Sandy. It's not super relevant and it's not like it was a sudden and unexpected storm. Anyways, I don't think discussing this is gonna help. By arguing this much we've practically already extended the deadline Tomorrow's already 11/5 so....... yeap.

I agree. Sailor Bee should just go by the entries that have been posted by the deadline. I can't wait to see who wins!

It occurs to me that ending the contest now will still be unfair to those who did submit on time and were not backed up by their team.
Because this relied on comparing the differences in each drawing of the same group of people.
This may sound mean but I want this to end now because if it doesn't go smoothly we may not get another team event.
