Hey, I'm wondering if CR will implement a new feature called Auto FullScreen. It kinda gets annoying when I'm laying on my couch and always have to click with the cursor that little square box.
But this an unique idea that would help many people. I have made a small script capable of that but I could share it with you guys. I have saw this thread here: http://www.arujei.com/2011/12/29/crunchyroll-videos-go-fullscreen-with-a-new-scriptapp/ And got the script working but sometimes it doesn't work properly because of the background programs. |

Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide I am sure this sort of feature is on the list of things to do in the future, but probably not very high. I didn't look at the link you posted but I can assume how the script works, and I don't think that is how this site will eventually implement it. While having some sort of external script to enter full screen does indeed fix the problem, it is a very crude fix. What I think that they will do is actually rewrite the player so that it will be able to load the next episode without reloading the page, but that is not as easy as it sounds. Currently all of the episodes have their own page and all the content related to that episode like comments is on that page, allowing all of that content to update on episode change without reloading the page would require many changes to the site. So I think it is in the works, just not sure how long it will take. Also it will just change episodes while still in fullscreen so that there is no interruption of content. It might be a while before we see this though. Edit: I don't want to bump the thread or anything, but seeing as it may get linked to again in the future, I thought I would place the link up here so people can get to it faster. Here is the link to the extension, to install it just download it, then open your extensions page and drag the file onto it. Even if I update it in the future, the link will remain the same. |

I'm looking forward to this. I was just curious about this feature because I and some of my friends who really loves anime likes to watch on Full Screen mode without having to worry using the cursor. I have tried the script personally and it was kind of glitched. Didn't really worked that well. If anyone would like to rewrite the script, it would be extremely helpful for my case. I know this would take a while before they add up this feature but in the past it has been considered but I've never seen any changes. That was from 2-3 years ago when people were asking for it but I don't ever think they would consider it. So we better just make a petition on adding this.

I would do it but from what I have read, there seems to be a limitation in flash that prevents changing Stage.displayState without user input, which means that I cannot have it change it automatically. The script that you linked tries to automate that user input by clicking the link for you, it has a lot of problems because you cannot use the DOM to access and find flash objects. The best I could do for you at the moment would be to make it so that it plays each episode maximized in the window (nothing else on the page, the video takes up the whole page) but things like the task bar and the mouse and nav bar would all be there. |

Alright, I made a very basic extension for chrome, if there are any major problems with it just let me know and I will fix it. I will make it better some time when I am less tired, but it kinda works for now. Do you know how to install crx files? Oh yeah, here is the link. At the moment, there is no way to turn it off without disabling it, but it should be there in the next update. Make sure to be in full screen mode (full screen browser, using F11) before you click on an episode, the seek bar and video controls will be visible, but they do not block anything, and you should be able to put your mouse in the bottom right corner. This is as close to full screen as I can get. It is pretty close if I do say so myself. Edit: I rewrote it a different way and was able to make it run much much faster, the link is the same though. Still no disable function, but it should only affect pages that are episodes now, and not anything else. It plays the quality that you have set as default, and there is no way to change it or go into full screen from the larger player. |
