I'm enjoying the crap out of HunterxHunter, however as most ongoing series like Bleach,Naruto and One Piece it will eventually hit filler. I understand that they're far from the manga, so I just hope it doesn't get to the point where the anime stops like Bleach or pull a Naruto Shippuden and go filler crazy.

'Cuz Togashi is already rich so he can write whenever he wants. Just my guess of course.

He has put HxH on hiatus before, sometimes he just needs a break, some our speculating this time around is because the new HxH film will be a new original story so he wants to devote time to that so instead of giving half his effort to the manga story and half to the new film he decided to give all his effort to the new film(still is all but speculation no official word from the man himself).

Weekly Shonen Jump always says the reason is health issues. Many people don't believe that. Some people say that the Japanese say that to cover the real reason. There are some people say that he takes a hiatus to play Dragon Quest when a new game comes out every year, I honestly don't know if it's supposed to be a joke or not.
Some people say why doesn't Togashi put the series in a monthly magazine instead, and the answers I've read is that Shueisha doesn't want to lose Hunter x Hunter so they give Togashi his breaks.

Does it happen often? Well there's a reason why some people give it the nickname Hiatus x Hiatus.

Well. The creator of Hiatus x Hiatus obviously doesn't care about it anymore.
As long as I get my anime I'm okay.

From what I've looked at, Togashi Yoshihiro suffers from a stress-based illness from his work. The artwork and the messages to the readers in the released volumes also suggest that the artwork was rushed to make deadlines for the weekly series. When the volumes reach the twenties he mentions that he had to redraw some chapters (most likely due to the rushed nature of the artwork at times). Since JUMP does not want to run him into the grave, he is given breaks. I am not sure how I feel about this (possible) situation. Although I love the manga and anime but don't want him to kill himself working. I apologize if my post offends or angers anyone, that is not my intention and I have no definite proof of my statements, so everyone is entitled to their own theories and opinions.
