Whats the status of this? the 2nd season has already ended, not one piece of news or information about season 1? Is it safe to assume it's just not gonna ever be on CR? Getting tired of waiting to watch this show, about to watch it by other means.

Short answer: No it is not safe to assume that.

Long answer: Sometimes a pattern is in no way related to the outcome of the next test, in this case just because they have not gotten it yet does not mean that they will not get it. In fact, if you were to treat each second that they could get it as an independent event then, because they have not gotten it yet and because there is a limited amount of time, they are actually more likely to get it. But this, too, has no real impact on if they will get it or not. All that can be said is that if they can get it for a reasonable price then they will get it and I am sure a post telling us that they got it will follow. I do believe it is a rule of both formality and of common sense that they do not tell us of in progress negotiations, so the most you can get as a status would be either they have it or they don't, and currently they don't.

Problem with that reply though is they shouldn't have said anything if it was going to be months from now.

"Additionally, the first season of Dog Days will also be available on Crunchyroll with launch times to be announced at a later date" (http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2012/07/09/crunchyroll-to-stream-season-2-of-dog-days-anime)

I think it's safe to say CR jumped the gun by a long shot with this title.

I sent Bjaker a PM about another matter 2 weeks ago about another matter, and asked him about this as an addendum. I don't feel it would be proper to quote his message here, as it was a private message, but he did relate there were issues involved with it, but also indicated the translators were working on it, which would indicate the materials are in hand.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like CR has the originals, but something on the contract end is the hold up. Another (but less likely) possibility is that they received originals that were sufficient for beginning a subtitle script, but were deemed inadequate for posting to the site.

I certainly hope that whatever the problem is, that it gets resolved soon.

Not a definite date on launch, but a definite date on the 'MORE INFO' from the Brand Managers.

We'll be posting an update about season one in 2 days.

Thanks Bjaker. Any update on season one would be welcome by me. And again, I am thankful that Crunchyroll will stream the first season and I'll be patient for whenever the first season becomes available.
