lol, I guess not many people get the point of this thread. Or haven't been in the animeworld long enough to know when a title is little-known or not. (No, X is not an unknown title.)

Currently watching Himitsu - Top secret, lol ironic name. xD

Oh gawsh, I wish it would get licensed..... Though they probably never will; I don't think licensors see a market in MA titles aimed at gals.

I saw Mermaid Forest not too long ago. It is licensed and even dubbed, but I think I've only ever seen one person mention it. The original manga is by the same lady who did Inuyasha.

I've probably even lesser-known ones than that, but I can't remember ATM.

Most obscure I would say would be Blue Submarine 6 or Crest of the Stars

Besides the stint on Toonami/SciFi that it had back in the day, I haven't seen it anywhere.

Ranma 1/2 would have to be another, because no one seems to know it. XP

The most underrated anime in existence.

Try watching Needless and Burst Angel, it`s awesome!

Needless. It's impossible to hate that show. I marathoned it on Netflix.

Also, I never see anyone ever talking about Bastard!! or Baki the Grappler.

Honestly, even though its BONES work no-one I know has seen this
13 Episodes

Skull Man... I have the first 6 volumes of the manga (thank you Goodwill!) That was the inspiration for Kamen Rider, ya know :)

ONE MORE EDIT: I just remembered I have a VHS for an anime called "Those Who Hunt Elves" which was pretty funny.

Hmm, maybe Ambassador Magma, Kishin Heidan or Windaria (Once Upon a Time).

All are relatively old now and I rarely if ever see them mentioned elsewhere.

Back when Scifi did saturday morning anime (in the 90s), me and my cousin would watch all of these movie-anime that Ive never heard of or scene since. Hell, I cant even remember the names of them. lol Except for Blue Submarine #6, which I loved.

The one that sticks in my head the most is one I can only remember the very ending of. I don't remember the plot, the title, or any of the characters. It was set on Mars and it ends with all of these ships blasting off from a dying planet (I think) and traveling to it's nearest neighbour, a little blue planet (Earth).

I would love to know what show that was, but considering thats the only part I remember, it's kinda impossible.

I can think of a few shows I've seen that aren't as well known these days but are genuinely enjoyable. Golden Boy is a very underrated anime that deserves a much larger fanbase. Anime that have made me laugh as much as that one are few and far between. Another one that isn't mentioned nearly enough is Slayers. Classic comedy/action/adventure/romance .. what more could you ask for? I realize it's been around a long time, but really if you think about it, it's not nearly as well known as it should be. Another one I can readily think of is Basilisk. I picked up that series on a whim because I thought the wooden collectors box looked cool, but it really does have some great action and romance. Plus the animation is superb. The final one I'll mention is the crazy, insanely awesome series Urusei Yatsura. It was a huge, long running series over in Japan that was made by Rumiko Takahashi. For how popular Inuyasha and some of her other series were, I'm surprised Urusei Yatsura and Lum don't get more love. If you've ever seen someone cosplay in a tiger bikini, that's Urusei Yatsura for you.

If you haven't seen any of those series, check them out, they can be found pretty cheap online these days. You won't be disappointed.

For me it would have to be 3x3 Eyes. I watched it at a local comic shop when I was younger. [around 5 or 6] It was pretty influential in my interests later on down the line. Another series is Haunted Junction. Check it out~ I have never laughed so freaking hard watching anime because of a certain running gag.
