Glad this show is back from the break!
It was a little unexpected to have a flashback episode, especially one focusing on Yayoi, but it was great nonetheless. I'm glad we are getting to know her. She's far cooler than I previously thought. :) I'm guessing Rina will make a reappearance in the future and will have some connection with Makishima. They also introduced rehabilitation. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide I wonder if this is foreshadowing for Akane. I can't imagine she handling her failure very well. I like the new OP & ED. Plus the music in this episode was very good. |

Click to show or hide I am going to expand on this it shows how the Sybil system is messed up by putting an artist in rehab for caring about her music. That being said I liked the part about the Ernie Ball Strings ( how many good bands did I see on the EBS stage at Warped tour) That also bugs me about musical expression being suprressed.Just a thought. I still like The Dominator . Also once a latent criminal you never get out of Rehab.Rina was kinda right about the Sybil system and freedom of speech. |

The new OP: I enjoyed it more than the first opening; I think's more visually impressive than the first opening, too. It gives me a "cybernetic" feel and I appreciate the vocals more than I did for Abnormalize.
As for the actual episode, I enjoy learning more about the side characters. I felt that they weren't getting enough screen time so this is quite satisfying for me. I appreciate being given a reason to care and look out for side characters. I may have missed these insights from previous episodes but this episode made me realize that Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide being passionate for a cause may raise one's Cloud Hue. It made reconsider the idea of Makishima being born with the ability to elude judgement from Sybil and consider if he knows how it works -- if a person can control their passion for certain hobbies, would Sybil being able to judge them for that? Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide what if Makishima was "boringly" killed Yuki? |

new OP is terrible.
that band sucks. they're probably gonna give them so many OPs, it makes no sense but hey, tell me something. from what we know about the Sybil system right now, do you think you'd be considered a "latent criminal"? anyone you know? I would probably be considered one, for sure. So would Varg Vikernes :) Episode 12 was awesome. I mean, I imagined how frustrating it would be for the underground music scene would even exist in that world. Most shows would not have covered that. his might become a "root for the villain" kind of show. . . |

I doubt it, not for me, Sybil may be wrong but Makashimi... a) slaughtered someone just to prove a point. Such people may not be 'evil' but like a razorblade in an apple they're too dangerous to be allowed to exist. Sorry. b) Slaughtered an innocent girl just becuase he could despite people asking. begging him not to. My emotional side wants to see him begging desparately for something and be denied. Nope I'm NEVER rooting for the Villian. ---- Edit Now that I've watched the ep. I'm sorry for those who liked the original OP but I personally found it screechy, the new one might be nothing special but at least it doesn't make me hastily reach for the mute and fast forward buttons. Further evidence that the Sybil world is a dystopia, as if we needed it, it was obvious from the first ep that going cloudy enough could start a negative feedback loop. And medicated utopias are creepy. I'm tempted to create a world like this for my players to visit in the Traveller table top RPG I run. I wonder what Yayoi's motivation and focus is going to be? Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Why did she decide to become an enforcer? and why did she leave behind all the symbols of the past when she did so. Has she become utterly loyal to Sybil? I think not. (though it might be possible. the Japanese code of honour (as presented in the media) doesn't distinguish between surrender and completely turning your coat. ) or does she now have some personal agenda. As an enforcer, she can pursue it. Enforcers may be leashed but in terms of the privacy of their thoughts and emotions they are the most free individuals in sybil's 'utopia' |

Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide what if Makishima was "boringly" killed Yuki? Perhaps you're right. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide maybe the psycho pass system cannot identify a 'true' sociopath. the identifying feature of a sociopath or one of them is the lack of response to emotionally charged words and images. They are just unaffected. An interesting test for a sociopath is to tell a story about a woman who meets her dream man but doesn't get any contact information or useful identity information, at a relative's funeral. The question at the end of the story asks why did another relative die within a weak, Aparantly most people can't figure it out but persons with sociopatchic tendencies will tell you right off that the woman killed said relative in order to have another funeral to which 'dream man' might show up. If sybil locks up eccentric artists for life but misses sociopaths... the system was broken from day one. |

While I think the Psycho-Pass system is flawed, I think it can be useful; I am of the opinion that it is used "incorrectly" or, rather, the "unintended" way. Technology has been brought forth into the world for different purposes but sometimes they're used for purposes not intended. I don't have a specific example but let's just say that guns were created for defense; though it is intended to be a defense mechanism, it is used by some people as an attack.
I don't quite have the words to describe it but this post from an user on ANN describes what I think of the usage of the Sybil System. |

I think this show highlights the fact that humanity wouldn't be able to use such a thing correctly in the first place. |

Strange, the link directs me to the post without having to scroll through the posts; but it is the one by Raftina. It's the 3rd post in the thread's current page. |

Ah got it. interesting points not sure I entirely agree but definitely points worth discussing. I think makishimi himself puts some lie to that however. |
