That was one of the greatest feats of calmly handing someone's ass to them that I have witnessed in a long time. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide You know how most of the time, when a main character has a gun to their head, you figure he'll get out of it somehow? Well, I had myself thoroughly convinced that, with this series, Kogami was gonna die right then and there. I can't even explain the relief and excitement I felt when Akane entered the realm of bad-assery right then. Little girl finally grew up. Even more importantly though, what would have happened otherwise? Jesus, Gino, I was shitting bricks here. Granted, I probably would've been just as shocked and panicked if my Dominator suddenly switched to lethal eliminator, but man, you had me on the ropes. Then again, I felt like even if Gino didn't pull the trigger, Chief-chan would finish the job for him. That was nuts. That said, episode 18 as a whole was definitely the highlight of the series so far -- so much more depth to almost all of the characters. The conversation between Gino and his Dad, Ko and Akane in the elevator, all the parting words Kogami had with everyone -- They've all come a long way as people, and it was cool to see the respect everyone has for each other. I haven't been this psyched for next week in a while. Oh my gosh, I KNOW... Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide When Akane came in like a boss and paralyzed Kogami, I let out the breath I had subconsciously been holding.. SUCH A GREAT SCENE! I was hoping for Ko to somehow escape, but I totally didn't anticipate Akane stepping in. I gotta say though, when Gino went to hand Ko over to Division 2, and they were escorting him over to the police wagon, the scene panned and stopped briefly on that drone, and I was like "Oh CRAP...."!!! You knew something bad was coming, lol! :) And I agree, the elevator scene was great, especially in connection with the letter at the end. Obviously leading up to that inevitable scene where Akane will have to choose between the Dominator's judgment or her own. Also --- Question --- Didn't you think someone would have picked up on how creepy and sinister the chief was when trying to coerce Gino into eliminating Kogami? I mean, Gino knew Kogami's coefficient was 265, so wouldn't he have questioned why the Dominator suddenly switched to lethal mode? I could talk about this topic for awhile, but I'll leave it at this for now! So many great sides to this episode, and I feel like it's a terrific lead up to the next one to come -- You just know something's goin' down sometime soon! And can I say, was that not one of the shortest-feeling episodes?!? I had to check the clock to make sure time had actually passed. I guess that's the definition of a good show! |

We haven't seen Gino since that event, so my guess would be that we'll get his reaction next week. I feel like this has got to be the event that makes him turn on MWPSB. I can sort of understand why he was so close to pulling the trigger though. He was thinking, I've gotta protect my job, and if I paralyze Kogami, then I can keep my job -- I need to shoot Kogami. I was right with him there, and it seemed perfectly reasonable. But without warning, he was given a choice that he hadn't even remotely considered -- his dominator turned to lethal eliminator. Just the shock of that alone is enough to freeze up your thoughts, and being that he was still in the mindset that he needed to keep his job when his thoughts froze up, shooting Ko might still seem alright. Plus, you need to consider that up until now, Sybil made most of their decisions for them, and that the Dominator is basically Sybil's judgement. I think though, that once he has some time to think things through, and he's out of that impossibly difficult position, he'll reason that obviously Kogami didn't deserve to die for staying on the case, and that it was strange for the dominator to do that. This will (hopefully) be the event that finally turns Ginoza on the Chief, but obviously we'll see. |

Episode 18 ....4 more to go....
Damm...this show is just getting better even though we are nearing the end ....well except for some drawings. I agree with all the comments above and I am so proud of Akane chan but the end just kills me. I kinda know where this is leading up to , the end was killing me especially when that end song started with the you know what in the ....I almost cried man...my chest was getting heavy... I have but so much praise for the writting of this title and the character development of this anime is just wonderfuly deep that I have not seen this much quality in all the anime that I have seen in the past 10 years , well except for Space Brothers and a few .But this would easily top them.Even the voice acting is so believable. This show deserves an award or 2. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Anyway , I was saying holy shit when the Chief showed up when KOgami was about to board the paddywagon... and then another holy shit when that Dominator changed to lethal mode when the chief just put her hand on Ginoza's hand holding the dominator and I even said ...there it is!!! ...Kagari's killer!!!! on Hell man...I too disagree Kogami's decision in the end , its a suicide, f-u Sybil system!!! ...gomensai for my language but that is what I feel right now ...heck my Crime Coeffecient is probably 250 by now lollll .! |

Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Well technically Kagari's killer could be another person - another Chief Kasei if you will - as there are more than one. There have been shows with this much quality in the past 10 years, this isn't the only one. I do agree it is great though, I just know Funimation is going to dub it. Since that will most likely be the case I wonder what the cast would be like? |

There is a saying that goes "WE are one ,but we are Many " , that is how I see Sybil , so it does not matter who did it. As for me there has only been a few anime that closely matches the quality of this anime , the writing, the story , the animation, the voice acting , the editing , the character development. All the elements that makes up a show of the year , as in the Oscar awards. Indeed I have seen a lot of excellent anime in the past 10 years whether it be drama or comedy but I have not made a comment close to this to any other anime. Is it official that Funimation licensed Psycho Pass for distribution ? I dont see any news about that ? I know they only have the streaming rights |

Oops. iashakezula wrote: Is it official that Funimation licensed Psycho Pass for distribution ? I dont see any news about that ? I know they only have the streaming rights The way I see it, since Funimation is primarily a distributor, they wouldn't want to lose out on distribution rights if a series turns out to good. If that's the case, then I feel like they would license everything for distribution, and then just sell the rights if it turned out they didn't want to distribute it. Of course, I don't have any official statements for that, but from what I've seen, when Funi picks up a series, the announcement just says "licensed in North America," and then they just announce that they will distribute a series. I don't remember any "home video distribution rights acquisition" announcements for almost any of Funi's shows. Also, from the announcements I've seen, it doesn't specifically say, "licensed for internet streaming" either. It just says "licensed in North America." I do remember announcements saying that they will be streaming, but not that their license is only for streaming. It's usually just an announcement that they will indeed distribute, to say nothing of their rights in the first place. Have you seen announcements to the contrary? I feel like it's probably assumed that Funi licenses shows for both streaming and distribution. But again, I'm basically just guessing from what I've seen, and I could've missed an announcement that would shell my theory. But all in all, even if they don't have the rights already, I feel like they'd probably get first dibs, and would probably really want to get this show, so I'd be pretty confident that they'll release it at some point. |

In the end I think Kogami and Makashima will work together... the story just seems to setting itself up perfectly for that. XD. It just keeps getting better and better every ep tho this ep felt kindda short.

Overall, it's still great looking - just dipping a little. I also found this: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide ![]() Go Akane. |

Not sure how Kogami and Mak would end up working together. Mak killed his partner and killed one of Akane's friends right in front of her. Regardless that he is an enforcer & even though he left on his own I couldn't see Kogami ever teaming with Mak. If anything, they might end up taking each other out. I'm not hoping for that in the least bit, but if they ended up teaming together I would be severely disappointed.

I don't think those two would end up working together. Possibly though.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide I can't help but feel like Kogami is going to die by the end though. Maybe Makishima too. Perhaps one of the closing scenes would be a dying Kogami in the arms of Akane? Don't want to be pessimistic, but to me, it feels like a possibility. |

Agreed. Funny thing is if he hadn't said anything I wouldn't have been looking so hard for flaws LOL Story wise, character wise, the most important things IMO, it was a good episode. |
