Especially great when smoked with friends!

Great when done occasionally so that it doesn't interfere with your productive routine. Though there are opportunities to smoke daily, and since it comes cheaper than cigs too, I don't smoke it often. I use cannabis usually when it's a long weekend, or the weather is nice and cool..

With just the right amount, I feel good, even more relaxed, and somewhat sleepy. It's like I'm just cool and easy.
We sometimes mix it with brownies. You still feel good and chill when you wake up.

I don't know for others. I don't get the exaggerated high they're talking about. Quite the opposite. It's great. Though, sometimes, I find the smell sickening.

I used to smoke with my brother and his friend but I just didn't care for it so I stopped. Now the smell typically makes me feel a bit ill when I am around it just like regular cigarettes which I also used to smoke. I don't really mind if people want to smoke it around me or anything though as long as the place isn't just getting filled up with the smoke. I will admit though that I tend to think that people who smoke it every day are, unless proven otherwise, a bit less intelligent than a lot of people. This is simply based on my experience with it since the people who I know who do smoke it every day are very very stupid. I obviously know that it isn't like that for everyone though so even though I am thinking it in the back of my head I do still give people a chance.

I'm fine with cannabis, although I do not use it myself. The only concern I have is people flying their cars, or arriving to class or work reeking of it and clearly still intoxicated. It does have it's benefits for me in that my friend does some superb helicopter flying in BF3 when baked.

I don't participate, but I have friends who do. I'm totally fine with it and don't really care if others smoke. I think people should think of it like alcohol though. Just like you shouldn't reek of alcohol, no public intoxication, no drinking before work/school, no driving, etc -- I think you shouldn't be doing any of these under the influence of cannabis.

Since it's become legal in my state now, people think it's totally fine to walk around smoking like there's no tomorrow. Uh, please don't.

I think that we should go back to widely using it as fabric, instead of remaining ignorant of it's true potential. Also, I find it extremely hypocritical and deceptive of companies and the government to treat it as if it's worse than tobacco products. As long as public intoxication isn't involved and people aren't misinformed, I'm fine with cannabis.

@ohraii - Heh, indeed, despite the law saying smoking in public is still illegal.

I don't smoke due to my general intolerance for smoke, of pretty much any type, but my family does. Several go to hempfest yearly.

Personally, I believe cannabis is much safer than alcohol and people do less stupid stuff, including violent behavior. In fact, while influenced by cannabis, it is difficult to be angry and it discourages violent behavior which is the exact opposite of what alcohol does to people. I believe that if you replaced every drunk driver with one that is just high, there would be far fewer deaths and injuries, but it should not be considered safe to drive while high (but relatively safer when compare to drunk).

So, I was curious what the people here thought about cannabis. What do you know about it? What do you want to know about it?

I don't know if high people really do less "stupid" stuff then drunk people.... but anyways I don't think that anyone who's mind is under an influence of a substance should be driving at all. I know people who use cannabis for legitimate medical reasons (I live in Oregon where it is legal with a medical marijuana card) and I don't have any problem with that; However, I don't support it's legalization and use for recreational purposes I think we need less drugs in this country not more.

I'm a practical person. I think marijuana should be legalized, regulated, and taxed. This way people who enjoy it can continue doing so without having to hide it, valuable government/police resources aren't spent cracking down on this rather than more important crime, and we get more revenue for the federal/state governments to work with. Maybe some of that weed tax money can go towards better roads, public schools, assistance programs, etc.

BUT

Even though marijuana is not as "bad" or harmful as other drugs, cannabis smokers are deluding themselves when they say it's "natural" therefore it's not harmful. Every time you inhale smoke into your lungs, it will harm you over time. Don't kid yourself.

^ I like this human. He understands.

I've heard a few stories about people developing prior-to latent severe mental health issues as a consequence of smoking the stuff. Schizophrenia and the like. Won't touch the stuff myself at any rate.

I get that it's less dangerous than alcohol, but I don't really see how that justifies establishing it as a mainstream lifestyle option. There's so much fear mongering on my right and so many stoners preaching how chilled and happy they are on my left that I really don't know what to think.

I'd much sooner smoke weed than tobacco. Although I've never smoked either in my entire life

Getting stoned every once in awhile is great, especially after a night of getting tipsy. Although honestly, I wouldn't make it a daily thing because it only makes you tired/sluggish

I've never tried it and I wouldn't. At least, anytime soon.

"legalizing the commerce in marijuana would weaken drug smuggling gangs and fight petty crime. Uruguay is one of the safest Latin American nations, but has been scarred by criminal violence associated with the drug trade"

in Uruguay today the president has officially put forward plans to legalize cultivation of the crop, private households could grow six plants and up to 17Oz. Distributing it through government means they have the names of every user, available to help them if they run in to more serious drug problems, eliminates drug cartels in the region and imposes sanctions for people who disobey the new rules, rather than having your house raided for smoking a joint this would be for stuff like growing more plants to sell on. Uruguay is one of Latin America's safest countries already.
